I mean...west african slaves in the "new world" had music. They're music was considered that of the devil because it used a lot of drums and didn't seem to follow the "enlightened" musical patterns in european forms at the time. Platinum artists sell millions of cd's....not billions and not many people "keep" all that music or regularly listen to it rotation beyond 2 years......
