Just realized that there is one of these for the Eighties and Seventies, but none for the Nineties...




The cry in the background at 1.30 when she goes la da da ah .. is a trad ululation that is done at trad sessions all over ireland but i have never heard it used this way as part of the music like the cranberries do. She is also singing in a sean nós style

Also diff regions have diff cries or ululations or howls. The clare howl is probably the most famous here tho. It sounds nothing like this tho.

Also they can mean diff things. This trilled one with the tongue is meant to inspire the performers and encourage them its like saying 'Gwan ye good ting ya! '

Anyway its very 90s. 😛
