Like, there’s a difference between being mentally ill and working on it/getting help, and being mentally ill and putting your condition on a pedestal in search of attention.

Very beautiful voice but sadly also sold her soul to the industry, another mk puppet

I love your sentiment in this. I'm kinda in the middle on this (not just her, but the mentality in general) I like that she's another foot soldier in making mental illness less taboo. But... that shouldn't be the end goal. No. Single. Person. Should aspire to be depressed. Especially nowadays when people whine about 1st world problems and really dont have too much to be depressed about.click to expand

the "damaged vibe" has always been very present in music and other forms of art, mental illness is just recognized more now 🤷

went camping memorial day weekend....some parents w/pre-teen girls that like her were talking about how her lyrics/vids have gotten so dark and scary, some saying demonic/satanic, etc. (e.g. "bury a friend" vid)....tried to be the voice of reason and quell some of the paranoia, get em to look more on the bright side - like that its the perfect opportunity to teach the little ones about illuminati, mk ultra, and the whole reptilian agenda....
No fake moon landing? That's incomplete.click to expand

And why is it hot to romanticize your mental illness in songs all of a sudden?
My FB exploded with people relating to her songs, just about as to any other sad and damaged vibe people mass-relate to these days.
It’s like in today’s world, every 20-40 something person thinks that it’s hot to be sad and suicidal, by finding excuses for not doing emotional self-work. And avoiding lightheartedness and fun in life.
Loads of songs about mental illness and suicide: Basket Case - Green Day (albeit tongue in cheek), Megadeth - sweating bullets, St Anger - Metallica, Therapy? - Die Laughing (also gallows humour), Frightened Rabbit - Floating on the Forth (gallows humour), Early 00s Eminem. The difference is the ones I've mentioned are actually good.click to expand
