Yesterday, I had a discussion with a friend of mine who has allowed me the privilege of advising her for the past 25 months. She had found herself networking and connecting with far broader variety of clients than she needed or could actually utilize in her current occupation. This is when I had to explain to her that even though she felt exhausted right now, she’s currently RUNNING TOO SLOW… Here’s the concept.
If you know any career transitional success stories leading to next level (whether it be self-employment or Corporate Executive Promotion within a Corporation), they all have one commonality that most people fail to observe. Whomever is on the verge of a transition in financial status must speed up and lose sleep in order to keep up with the demands of the changes. They often initially feel overwhelmed because they find that the normal pace they have set for themselves which could have sustained them for years within their work no longer seems useful based on the new current demands. This is also the climax of the transition which most people fail to recognize. I told her she was RUNNING TOO SLOW.
In order to reach a higher level in any aspect of self, there is a great period of tension and discomfort. This should be common knowledge based on the design of society. Examples are the stress associated with the process of graduating from college. I haven’t met many students with aspirations to be attorneys, doctors, engineers, or chemist who hadn’t fell asleep studying and taking notes in order to sharpen their trade at the expense of their personal time and freedom. Similarly, if anyone has served in the military, each military physically and mentally condition you to such an alert and sharpened zenith, that often people in the military fail to realize that they have worked 26-hour days and/or served in the field actively in enemy areas for weeks on end in silence. However, the requirements necessary to achieve such a state of existence is a period of extreme stress being endured until that stressful state becomes your normal.
What I would like each of you who decide to read this article, understand that any form of growth within being human will require a period of great stress and endurance in order to evolve. YOU”RE RUNNING TOO SLOW!!!! Give every transition faced all that is in you and you will come out on the other side something more than anyone who ever knew you could have imagined. Do not deny yourself the opportunities presented to you in this life for spiritual, mental, physical, financial, educational, and experiential growth. That is what we are all here for. To grow in which ever way your journey leads you to. Do not fail yourself when these moments come. They are the most important moments of your lives. Seize the moment and do not do what ordinary people do in these situations. Be extraordinary. Be the real you…
