Does Astrology Influence Appearance

Astrology suggests that planetary positions at birth can influence physical traits and appearance. While there is no scientific proof, many believe that zodiac signs and planetary alignments can be linked to certain facial features and body types based on astrological theories.

So I'm posting this here... because I recall Nem and Stoic debating about (eeee... lol I don't recall well, because now I'm questioning if it was Stoic, but I am sure it was Nem - so fishboard it is!) if astrology influences appearance.

I'm sure this has to have made it's way to the forums at some point before.
But I finally located this thing, to spark this conversation. OR like most of my threads - fail miserably.

So.... look and then return to discuss. πŸ™‚

Ummm the pisces sun/libra moons arent up to my standards..
lolz

lol - it's not a dating site πŸ˜›

You're right Nem - I don't maintain my threads. Thank god they aren't hairy.
My thoughts? I think there are some obvious similarities to the same combinations. Not always, but in general.
I was even noticing facial structure similarities, like proportion of face and distances matching up between the length of all features. Wow what a mess that sentence was.

Jahlia's post made me ponder too.... because I have fairly piscean eyes (except that they are hazel and not some watery colour), but I think my pluto opposite moon, definitely comes out in my facial expressions and particularly my eyes.

Also - I caught ^ the error as I was typing it, but just to show that there is merit to the vibes in this thread, I thought I'd leave it. πŸ™‚

let me tell you - i am a bit surprised!

what we all have in common -

-thick dark hair (i have natural curls if i don't blow-dry)
-promiment mouth with the corners turned up
-promiment longish nose
-pale skin
-dark to hazel colour eyes

WHAT THE HELL?!?

hahaha it's definitely interesting isn't it??

Mine:

- fair with blonde/reddish toned hair (dyed or not, pictures aren't good enough to know)
- lips more to the thin side, and dare I say "delicate"
- eyes tend to be the more pronounced feature
- they all appear to have dimples, or the likelihood of (I swear I'm not trying to stretch this)
- I would say oval shaped faces

I would say my picture would tend to fit the group overall.

betel - I could see similarities in both your celeb examples (lol before you hid πŸ˜› )

hahaha I don't know maybe I'm just a believer - so it makes it easier for me to see what I want to see. Who knows.
I'm not sure if that site is still active - but bookmark it and check it from time to time, see if anyone sends in a picture with your combo.

Those fuckers didn't have my combo. : /
Though...I've been told I look a bit like Emma Watson and Alanis Morisette...but, we have no placements in common. So, whatever. I have yet to see anything to make me believe there are physical characteristics to placements.

Hehe, okay. Well, maybe those people are on to something, then. I didn't think I looked like them, but majority rules, I suppose.

I hate when people have the droppy eyes and fat chins/necks. Whenever they do expressions like that it looks like they're plotting something evil, even though they're just smiling. : (

I think this is a topic that's very dependent on how open-minded you are. It's like religion vs. science.

To me, I think it really all has to do with genetics. You see what you want to see and coincidences have to do with the correlations people are seeing. As I said before, the two celebrities I look like have none of the same placements as me. If you look at everyone in general, and not just those that have the same placements as you (like the listed site points out), I'm sure you'd find that the overwhelming majority that have similar characteristics as yourself don't have many of the same placements as you do.

Yeah, I agree. I watch a lot of ghost shows...haha...anyway, and when they play evps, the thing I initially hear isn't the same. But, it's like one person gets to decide how it is and everyone just goes with it. And, sometimes I don't even hear any words...but they can certainly make it seem like they're there!

I'm alright! Just ready for this semester to be over with. Research writing is making me want to go on a killing spree, starting with my professor and ending with myself. Haha! Besides that, it's pretty good. You? : )

This is the first time that word has been presented to me, so I don't really have any solid beliefs on it. I did look it up and the website I found mentioned repeating numbers and humming a song before it comes on the radio as examples. I think in the end, I would not be able to believe it fully or be completely against it. I have had a certain number follow me around a lot...but then again, I think a reason why I see it all the time has to do with, for one, psychology, and two, probably coincidence. On the other hand, who knows. And by psychology, an example would be...the number 11 follows me around. I'm not sure exactly what the answer is here...but say, maybe, the shape appeals to the human mind, or the repetitiveness of the numbers, or society has deemed it as a winning number or something...therefore, more people would use it and that would lead to me seeing it more in certain instances, like, tv shows where the main character, who ends up being my favorite, wears a jersey with the number 11. The completely random instances, like getting a hotel room number 11...that's not easily explained, but could be easily pushed aside as a random coincidence. Whether it is or not..that's probably too complex for me to have a definite answer on. Though, being spiritual, some of it may come through as divine guidance for me, also. Too many possible factors. Do you have a more solid view on this?

Anyway, I gave a much longer explanation than was necessary.

I find it quite a coincidence that synchronicities should be brought up πŸ˜›

What I've observed vis a vis astrological placements and physical features would only serve to confirm correlation, not causation. Genetics definitely plays a role in our physical features, so I think the next question to ask is, do astrological placements have any impact on our genetics? Logically, it is certainly possible, but is would be interesting if anyone could demonstrate an actual causative effect.

I've read that a woman's 5th house placements will indicate traits of her children.

Is this the type of thing you mean?

What? NO. Does that mean my children will be leo-ish?
(no offense to leos. I love you guys, but sometimes you're hard for my fishy self to handle.)

haha supposedly. It would be interesting to hear from mother's on their children's qualities vs. their own 5th house placements.

For instance - my friend just had a baby girl. My friend has Mars in the 5th house. She had a Sun/Mars/Ven/Uranus in Aries baby.....β€”

That's along the lines of what I was thinking. I seem to recall seeing Sutekh say that Jupiter in Cancer in a woman's chart tends to gift her with large breasts.

Now, there's no reason to be so discriminatory against the apostrophe! Don't you realise the kind of damage you might be doing to its ego pulling it out of your post retroactively like that?! πŸ˜›

Oh. I don't have any placements in the 5th house.

@That's not fair! Stupid jupiter in cancers.

@88, at least you have some fire placements if I remember correctly? Two leos would be difficult for me.

haha - hey.... I will accept responsibility for my haphazard usage being the cause of the apostrophe's lack of self esteem. But I will not make its lemonade for it. Lemons dealt. Go to town apostrophe. Go to town.

@Scenic - so apparently... you take the ruler of your fifth house in that case. Whatever sign is in the 5th house, the planet that rules that sign, and look at its placement. This is where it starts to get very fluffy for me. I'm not really sure what I believe when you start chasing geese around your natal chart. lol

DISCLAIMER: I'm in no way claiming any of this information dissemination as astrological expertise. I'm just stating what I recall reading in various places (of which I couldn't even tell you where). SOOOO - just in case anyone wants to jump on me for this at some point. Disclaiming post made!

I have jupiter in libra retrograde. So, I expand balance and fairness? Inside? Sounds like the universe. The big bang is going on inside of myself. Okay. Just kidding, that's probably sooooo off.

@Deezie...I'm slow...so you say, look at 5th house. Mine is Leo. It's ruler is sun....so, do I look to my sun sign for that? My child would have piscean traits? My head....ughhhh

I would be okay with my child having piscean traits. : ) As long as s/he is not a whiny bitch.

Guys. I have an idea for a game and I just want to know if you would participate or if it's completely stupid. It would involve pulling synastry charts with whoever the person above you mentioned. It has no point, but I really like seeing compatibility scores and such, but don't really think others would be interested...
Be honest!

It falls in the 12th.

And, I also just have to say, the pisces here are surprisingly not whiny at all. We're pretty tough people! Before coming to this site, I don't think I would've believed that.

I think that'd be interesting to see. Particularly if a good mix of lovers/haters joined in lol. To see what the deal is astrologically about why they do or don't get along.

Start it up!

The only problem is it will be a bit of work I suspect. That may dampen the participation rate. But it's an interesting idea for a lil game πŸ™‚

So, 88 has Leo in her 5th house and ended up with two Leo girls. But this is definitely always the case. So, what's the determining factor for when it is/isn't? Or is it just chance?

Perhaps where Mars falls in the house and/or one or more of the connections it makes to her other placements might play a role?

this is so not related to the 5th house thing...

but still mother/offspring related

My mom has a scorpio moon (hades being that it's debilitated). This is supposed to be passed along to the children (I vaguely recall, hahahhah this is the trouble with having serious discussions with a fish 😒 )

Anyway, both my brother and I have ended up with Moon opposite Pluto (which is also a Hades moon).

It is, however, an interesting comment with regard to heritability, which does fall back into the realm of genetics so, perhaps unintentionally, you actually ended up sort of back on track anyway πŸ˜›

Well that's the purest form of what I'm talking about....

The planet that falls in your 5th house dictates the traits of the children. So mars=aries, she had an aries baby.

88's is the same, because it's her sun falling in the 5th house. Not because leo RULES the house traditionally.
But because leo rules the sun, as her 5th house should be Pisces if her sun is in it.
