I have a Pisces friend who is going through a really tough time and I was hoping some of the Pisces could give me some advice about how to help without being his emotional doormat

He's in his 30s and one look into his eyes can show how much he has been hurt.

He is recovering from a drinking problem. Christmas has also been a very difficult time for him.

He isolates himself and throws himself into work! Avoiding the rest of the world!

The thing is he will start to open up to me he'll tell me snippets and then just disappear often at a point when we are going to meet up, he'll just leave me hanging which I find intolerably rude.

I never force anyone to talk about something they don't want to talk about, He'll talk when he's ready!!

It honestly feels like he pushes me away, he gets scared about letting someone close and treats them badly. He is hugely sensitive, misunderstood and he's been hurt very badly!

I want to be there to support him and be his friend but he is really rude sometimes

What is the best way to show a Pisces you are there for them but you not going to put up with any of the rudeness?

Put your pride aside and be there for him, because his behavior isn't about you. Don't challenge him or try and help him. Come from a place of love. If he cancels plans, be empathetic. Show him you love him and are there for him. Talk to him about his purpose and his future rather than his depression.
That is amazing advice, thank you! I am being a bit over sensitive to his behaviour he's had a really tough time and I need to go back to a place of love. It's not about me

Just one simple text. Don't bring up emotional stuff. Pisces men are usually so sensitive they will overcompensate for their sensitivity by being patronizing or condescending or in general rude as you described.

Their feelings make them feel less manly because of society as socialized them into believing so.

You have to trick them into doing things that will help them grow. Invite him to yoga or an art class .

Something tells me that planning meet up is your idea, not his. He just struggles saying no. That's why he has all this excuses and disappearances. Don't ask for meeting, it will take you nowhere and even more, you annoy him. Don't text him daily, use 3 day rule. Sometimes he might want to avoid you and ignore you but not because he's disinterested. He's tired or doesn't feel like talking. One day he can be emotional, sensitive fishie the other cold and detached. Sometimes meaningful songs can be the only way to communicate and I think it's enough. If your relationship is pretty new don't talk much, be reserved , don't give away too much at once, you sure want to keep him interested. I don't know, that's pretty much it
