Does liking an old photo on Facebook mean flirting?

Liking an old photo can be a sign of interest or nostalgia, but it does not necessarily indicate flirting. Context and other interactions are important to determine if someone is subtly expressing attraction or simply engaging with your profile.

Ok so your friends with this guy on facebook you've never met him or talked with him. your friends because you went to the same highschool except you were 3-4 grades under him. He occasionally likes one of your photos that you post. you go one day after he liked a new photo that you posted and you like an old photo of him. is this a subtle way of flirting or saying hey?

I think if she's shy... she might be trying to open communication with you - but not willing to initiate/doesn't know what to say.

Say hi to her if you want to.
Or ignore it if you are appalled.

Deezie, would 'her' being a 'he' change anything? Since it's a guy liking a guy's photos, I'm inclined to believe that it would mean less, since I think guys are more likely to do things without thinking it's a big deal. Like 'Oh hey, this is a cool photo. Nice shot, dude!' instead of it being a method of flirting. You never know, but I'm thinking not, on this one.

Absolutely her being a he would change it.

It's nice to think that women aren't doing things like this. But reading the threads around this place, plastered on every board (sign irrelevant) - women do passive aggressive stuff like this all the time to garner the attention of someone who has caught their eye.

I stand by my post.

ok let me be a little more clear. Im the guy . she is the girl. if she posts a photo it shows up on my news feed i sometimes "like" the photos. now in order for her to like the photo she had to go to my profile and go to my pics and look through them to find it and then "like" it. since I have not posted any photos in months.. and that doesnt sound like interest in the least? I personally want to try to strike up a conversation cause I think shes beautiful and recently single. I guess Im just looking for affirmation. Im with Deezie and Im going to send her a message.

Regardless of if it is a sign of interest (of which I think there is potential that it is) or not.. I say go for it. She's single. I presume you are as well.
You're young... live it up man 🙂

Good luck!!

Oooohhhhh. I thought this was some guy on guy going down here. It makes more sense, now...haha, I'm really slow sometimes.
Well, to re-asnwer correctly. It's too iffy and subtle. I know guy friends who are definitely not interested in me who likes my photos, but I know there are some who do like me that do the same thing. It's not much of an action, though, so I would just ignore it. But yes, if you send a message to her, that would be a much better way at letting her know you're interested. Good luck!

Not Flirting at all, sometimes I go threw people`s pics when I`m just bored, or curious on what they been up to, and if I see a pic I like it...Just send her a Hey whats up msg....

yea personally I feel like she was trying to say hey. we never talked in school or met as I was like 5 grades ahead of her. but she friended me a couple years ago and she just took the time to look at my pictures and like one the day after I liked hers, so I messaged her just to see how shes doing. if Im wrong for thinking she was trying to reach out well then I guess im the clueless idiot but I feel otherwise.

Say hi, keep it casual then go from there. To me if a guy that I really don't know comes off too strong it is a major turn off. So, I say keep it casual and light and get to know her. Don't be that douche who says, "Oh, your hot! Wanna kick it?" Also, spell correctly... maybe that is just me. I have Virgo in my house of communication.
