Sleeping with the Fishes - truths & misconceptions

I've been yapping on a lot about my Aries Mercury/Venus/Mars and my Virgo moon, but it's time to embrace my sun. They say the Sun is the ego, same way the Moon is indication of our approach to emotions. I'll leave the Pisces ascendant talk to Jed & Pisces moon talk to some of our beloved resident crazies. So, as a Fishy ego, let me explain some of the truths & misconceptions other people have about us.

- What you need to remember first & foremost is that we wear our hearts on our sleeve. Emotional honesty is very important to us, and our emotions are sacred to us.

- One main misconception about Fishes is that we don't have much of an ego, and other people assume we're doormats.



We DO have an ego, but we mostly choose not to sweat the small stuff. When my boy cancels our plans at the last minute because he wants to hang out with his brother or meet his mother for breakfast, lunch or dinner, I don't throw a hissy fit or give him the cold shoulder for the rest of the week like some egomaniac/clingy Cancers/Leos/Scorpios/Aries/Libras/Bulls would do.

There will be other breakfasts or dinners. And it's me he snuggles up against in bed at the end of the day, so it's not like I'm starved for attention. It's just not a big deal. They are his family, he's my boyfriend. It's all good.

You will bear the full brunt of our ego in due time, when you decide it's ok to walk all over us - particularly on matters that mean a great deal to us. A typical Pisces is capable of turning into a demonic banshee when things go really sour AND when he/she believes that the friendship/relationship has reached the point of no repair and has decided to cut the other person out of their lives for good. My ex, Chris, got a mere taste of the nastiness I can dish out every time he tried to contact me long after I dumped him.

- We are affectionate & giving by nature. Yes, there will be some people who will "bribe" you with kindness to make you stay longer out of perceived obligation to them. But the majority of us just want to show you how much we love you. And what better way than to shower you with affection & cuddles? The pufferfish up there cannot deny cuddles are awesome.

So if you are a cold bastard, go find someone of your own kind and don't take a sweet Fish for granted & hurting our feelings by keeping us at arm's length just because we want to hold you for a little while. Affection is healthy, it feels good and it won't kill ya. We just want to love you & make you happy? Is that so bad? The only people who would hate that is sociopaths that don't feel a shred of genuine emotion, and cheaters who feel undeserving of all that affection because they are or simply don't have the balls to call it quits.

- We are naturally sensitive to vibes & auras of people. If you decide to fake it until you make it, the Fish might appreciate the gesture but will definitely sense that you don't really mean it. That's how resentment can start simmering over time.

If you're the slow-emotional type and you notice your Fish getting a little ahead of themselves, skip the platitudes and just be honest with us. Keep it simple. Explain that you're not quite there yet and that you'd like both to take your time & enjoy the present, because there's plenty of time & there's no need to rush.

This way there will be no misunderstanding, but you also won't come off as a cold uncaring bugger. We will appreciate the sincerity. We are old souls and we will understand. It's all in the delivery.

Kill em with kindness is what I say. If people take my kindness as weakness than that says more about them than me imo

It is kind of annoying when people act like they're the shit because they "played" a Pisces or some other dumb shit. I wouldn't say Pisces can't be played or taken advantage of, but in my case I feel like I can often sense that stuff coming. If they want to play games more power to them I guess lol. If that's what they enjoy then so be it. I just think it makes you look dumb as fuck, like what are you still in middle school? I'll let them think they got one over on me and I'll be on my way, no big deal. There's a good chance those people will come crawling back and apologizing anyways when they need a shoulder to cry on

Unfortunately in this world there are too many opportunists who are out for whatever they can get. Genuinely good people are a rarity in this day & age, which is why too much of a good thing can be a bad thing = killing them with kindness.

There's also attracting life leeches who take take take and give nothing in return. That's how you get taken advantage of, and that's why I reserve my energy for those who have proven to be worth the effort. I learned early that my boy is the real deal, that's why I waited 4 years for him to come to me.

We have big egos, we do like to care and give love to people that thats is also directly linked with the fact that we can be extremely weak in regards of emotions. We have weak control over them and we often feel the need to make others be genuine, honest and expressive in order for us to feel safe and secure, while we arent neither honest with them nor with us in a lot of the cases.

We are very manipulative, we are prone to becoming emotional vampires, we are sleazy, we are delusional, we often find it really hard to cope with real life and practicality which is a sign of a weak character, we can psychologically abuse our closed ones, we can be extremely self-righteous and arrogant...i can go on and on.

I love the sign, as i do with every archetype, but having read all that positive shit i just needed to balance things out with our obvious negative characteristics.

Yeah well I only covered the ego part. My sun is my only Fishy placement. Everything else is Aries, Scorpio, Sag and Aqua. The vampiric sleazy craziness is all yours

A lot of fish men I know are tall and skinny so I always assume ‘baby worm birth peen’
