Tenzan v. Ohara. A Japanese match. It was what it was.

They recap the Flair and Hart confrontaion.

He says now in WCW he has to prove himself again. Out comes Flair! Flair once again still wants Bret to say his saying with Flair also in the ring. Bret says Flair will find out once again he is the best there is best there was and best there ever will be. He gets some boos again. Flair says thats the stupidest thing anone has ever said to him. Flair starts to go cray! Flair is resentful and winning the crowd over. Still lovin this build. Even tho Bret isss getting out talked.

Theres a part missing from youttube stupidly but we dooo get to see the Sting vs Hogan ending from Nitro last week. Finally. Basically both people won the match. *eyeroll* NWO attacked. WCW attacked. War.

Back to Thunder. JJ Dillon calls Sting and Hogan to the ring. He holds up the title and vacates the title. Sting must give the championship belt. Pretty lame. Sting talks! He calls Hogan a dead man.

Main event. DDP vs. Kevin Nash for WCW US Title. Hogan comes out with Nash. Its not a very good match. Giant comes out to aid DDP after. Giant and Nash brawl.

The show was a good debut and prolly the best wrestling show of the week even with the absurd world title situation. How they managed to fuck up the outcome and aftermath of their biggest show ever is beyond me. But hey, no wonder theyre no longer in business.

I used to hate CM Punk... but he has grown on me.

We start with a 4 way tag match. It blows. They recap LOD in its hayday and then the new age outlaws taking them out. The LOD return this sunday at Royal Rumble.

Mero introduces Sable. It is Goldust dressed up as Sable. :/ That leads to Vader vs Mero. Real sable comes out and this leads to clusterfuck city.

Rock and D Lo brown vs Shamrock and Mark Henry. Henry turns on Shamrock and joins the Nation of domination. Farooq doesnt look pleased.

DX talks about Owen being a nugget again. Shawn talks shit about Tyson. Triple H mocks Tysons voice. Owen comes out swinging a crutch. Security holds him back.

Rock n Roll express vs DOA. meh

Goldust vs Makind is quick. Then Austin stuns them both.

McMahon says Mike Tyson is an invided guest at the royal rumble anddd will be live on raw next week!

DX is out again to talk shit about Taker and Kane. Undertaker comes out. DX beats down on Taker. Out comes Kane! Kane attacks DX! Taker and Kane then seem to share a bond.

Show ends with big brawl with the rumble participants. Out comes Honey tonk man. Then Cactus Jack. And last austin! But austin doesnt get in the ring. He lets everyone else fight. lolol but nope the nation of domination attack Austin on the stage!

Luger and DDP vs Savage and Nash is set for thunder this week. DDP mocks NWO being for life and Savage and Elizabeth being for life

Booker T and Saturn have a pretty good lil match.

Giant gets money away from Nash for not showing up at Starrcade. Hogan will pay that fine
But now Giant cant hit Nash because of a clause and Nash taunts it.

Jericho time! but he loses again :/ Jericho goes nuts again! He says hes in idiot for trying to be a role model for u people. He keeps talking and Rey mysterio interrupts. Jericho is mad he interrupted but wishes him luck in his next match for the cruiserweight title. Jericho then blindsides him from behind! Jerichos gimmick is gold.

Rey is hurt but Juvi is out for the match anyway and attacks Rey. Juvi makes quick work of him.

Hogan comes out and talks his shit.

Jim Neidhart debuts. He is disturbed by Flair claiming to be the best and says Bret is the best. Flair comes out and challenges him to a match. They brawl. Flair tries to injure him. Bret chases and attacks Flair.

Outsiders vs Steiners is the main event. Savage wants to cost Nash the match but ends up the outsiders become tag champs again.

The show was pretty good. Sure better than the raw clusterfuck.

Al snow is out with all the peeps in the audience having a head..
Snow takes on roadkill.Not much of a match

Chris Candido vs Jerry Lynn. Good stuff.

Justin Credible beat down an injured Mikey whipwreck.

Sasuke vs Credible is the main event. Credible tries to injure him too. Credible is lookin badass.

Louie Spiccoli v. Scott Hall. Hall takes a survey before the match. Zybysko comes out in Louies corner but Louie attacks Larry. Larry kicks both their asses.

They recap Jerichos greatness from Monday.
Chris Jericho v. Eddie Guerrero. The winner faces the winner of the Juvi-rey match later at the PPV. Jericho says Rey made derogatory remarks under his breath on monday and thats why he attacked him! Jericho makes a great reversal into the liontamer for the win!

We get some pretty bad audio and video issues for a good 15+ minutes. wtf wcw.

Hogan is out for his appearance. meh.

Rey Mysterio Jr. v. Juventud Guerrera for WCW Cruiserweight Title
Rey rey new cruserweight champ! Another quick title reign tho. Good match however. Rey and Jericho now set for Souled out in a few weeks.

Main event time. Luger and DDP vs Nash and Macho man. More audio and video problems. :/ so idk wtf is happening.

Show was super hindred by badddddd production. Thunder is a show where they can focus on wreslting matches tho and they did a pretty good job tonight.

With the launch of the WWE Network soon I fear that I probs wont be able to continue this if/when they start takin shit off of youtube and probably dailymotion. But until then I shall try.

Decent match that ends in TOTAL shenanigans. Brass knucks in tights and what not. Shamrock gets DQ'd and snaps on the ref! 2/5

WWF Tag Team Titles: New Age Outlaws vs. the Legion of Doom
yet another screwy ending. Fuck man. WWFs PPVs are worthless. 0.5/5

1998 Royal Rumble
I hateeeee when the royal rumble match itself is no the main event. This match is also pretty much give away of who is gonna win even if I didnt already know. #1 is Cactus Jack and #2 in Chainsaw charlie. So we have a hardcore start. Welp the first 15+ entrants make the match really slowww and blah. Entrant 15 or 16 is Mandkind..The match finallyyyyy picks up a bit from there. Austin is number 24. Everone was waiting for him but he comes through the crowd and raised hell! The entire nation of domination is in the ring at one point. Farooq goes after all of his teammates. Dude Loce eventually is an entrant. Giving foley 3 different entrances.

Dude Love, Farooq, Austin and Rock are the final 4. Then it is down to Austin and Rock and they go at it! Austin finally eliminates Rock after a good little exchange. "STONE COLD! STONE COLD! STONE COLD! IS GOING TO WRESTLEMANIA!" As JR calls it. The match as a whole was pretty bland tho. 2/5

Mike tyson is interviewed and he says that "cold stoned" is his man yo.

WWF Heavyweight Title, Casket Match: Shawn Michaels (w/Triple H & Chyna) vs. Undertaker
The concept of a casket match is iffy. Butttt these two can put on a show. And they do. However, like all the other title matches in the night in ends in shenanigans and after Taker i put in the casket, Kane lights it on fire.. 2.5/5

Welp WWF continues to disappoint. Other than Austin they pretty much just throw things at the wall in desperation to see what sticks.

The thrilling Marc Mero and Tom Brandy feud continues. :/ Sable gets a bouquet of flowers and Mero is not pleased.

Mike Tyson hath arrived to the arena with his entourage. Which includes Shane McMahon..

Bradshaw takes on Jeff Jarrett. It ends with windham turning on Bradshaw.The NWA stable is growing, I guess.

Undertakers music plays once again with the lights out! He comes down from the ceiling....no no its Shawn Michaels. And he starts that dancing. And strippin really. DX has themselves a BBQ in the ring and roast marshmellows nd hotdogs. lmao. ok thats funny. Shawn then talks about his next opponent for the title. Stone cold steve austin. and then talks his shit. and says he lays down for absolutely nobody..

Random ass match with Owen, Taka, and headbangers against Los Baricuas. :/

Backstage the nation of domination is chattin up Mike Tyson..

Ahmed vs Rock but Mark Henry gets involved.

Out comes Vince McMahon. To some boos. Vince introduces the baddest man on the planet. Iron Mike Tysonnn. Tyson says a few things. Vince is about to make the big announcement. Glass shatters and out comes Austin. Vince is pissy that he came out. Austin says he is sick and tired of seeing Mike Tyson. He basically tells Tyson he wants a fight. He keeps tellin Vince to shut up. lolol. "You're out here callin your self the baddest man on the planet. Right now you got your little beady eyes on the worlds toughest son of a bitch!" Austin flips him off! Tyson shoves austin! JR-"TYSON AND AUSTIN! TYSON AND AUSTIN!" The wwf officials and entourage hold the two back. Vince is pissed and yells at Austin that he ruined it! EPIC MOMENT.

The show as a whole was better than lately and of course that ending with Tyson and Austin was done quite greatly.

Benoit vs Marty Jannety. Decent match. Flock comes out after and Benoit beats on Lodi.

Theres an AOL ad. Made me lawl a bit.

Hall is out for his schtick. WCW out pops NWO. He then talks his shit about Larry.

Steiners have been having problems. They take on Konnan and Bagwell. Scott wrestles the entire match and gets the win. Rick doesnt look so pleased.

Mean Gene interviews the giant who has a match with Hogan Later. Nash gets in giants face and thorws cofee in his face and Hogan attacks him with a baseball bat. down comes sting and scorpion death drops Hogan.

Booker T vs Mortis is what it is.

Flair time! He gets on one of his rolls again about Bret. Which brings out Bret. They continue their who is the best feud. The match better deliver because its been a pretty good build.

Jericho time! He takes on Juvi. Jericho wins with liontamer. Jericho talks afterwards and says he is a man if integrity. He apologize for a cheap shot during the match and gets mad that Juvi doesnt accept it and attacks him. More great stuff from Jericho. Mysterio comes out and attacks Jericho. The two double team Jericho

Luger vs Hall. Prolly would have been better in 94/95

Main event Giant vs Hogan. Macho man gets invovled when hogan is about to win. This gives giant the advantage to get the win. Nash attacks Macho and Giant. Luger is out. Then more NWO. Down comes Sting! Ends in that brawl.

A solid show. Was hard to top the exciting Tyson/Austin moment on raw tho.

Punk is cool and all but NOBODY other than Stone Cold has ever gotten this kind of crowd reaction.

I also like to think I helped make the Yes chant famous at wrestlemania 28 in Miami. bahaha.

2. Raven vs. Chris Benoit
Finally Benoit gets his hands on Raven. The flock is barred from ring side. Another SOLID math. after kidman tries to attack Benout and Malenko comes and helps. The flock attack but Benoit and Malenko clean house! 3.5/5

3. Cruiserweight title match: Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Chris Jericho
This show is off to a great start. Reys knee keeps giving in as the two try and one up each other. Good paced match and Jericho ends it with yet another awesomeee reversal into a lion tamer. After the match Jericho gives an awards show speech really. lolol. He tells the fans not to boo him! He wants to give them a reason to boo and beats on Mysterio and tries to hurt his leg further! More good stuff. 3/5

JJ Dillon brings out Rowdy roddy Piper for a decision on the title. fucking finally. He brings out Sting, Hogan and Hall. The "brilliant" idea is Hogan vs Sting II and the next PPV. Then Hall will finally be number 1 contender for his world war win. Welp that was the low point of the PPV thus far.

4.World TV title match: Booker T vs. Rick Martel
Martel actually puts on a good match. This is a mini career comeback from him. Saturn attacks after the match. 3/5

5. Scott Hall v. Larry Zbyszko
Finally this match takes place. Spiccoli is in Halls corner. Dusty Rhodes is in Larrys corner. We get a Larry sucks chant and then a hall sucks chant. That goes back and forth. Crowds having fun. The match itself is the worst of the night thus far. Dusty doing a bionic elbow gets a huge pop from the crowd. Thennn dusty joins the NWO. :/ Match ends in DQ. 1/5

6. Buff Bagwell, Scott Norton & Konnan v. The Steiner Brothers & Ray Traylor
Show is going down hill pure usual 😢. Mehhh. Scott comes up with some cool moves tho. 0.5/5

7. The Giant v. Kevin Nash
Finallyyy this match happens. Geez it seems like this should have been the Starrcade card. Hmm. Theres a cool spot when Giant catches Nash in mid air. Hogan gives Nash coffee to throw at him. Nash goes for a jack knife and basically almost breaks Giants Neck. Ouch that looked ugly. I will give them credit tho. They went at it. 2/5

8. Ric Flair v. Bret Hart
Best vs best. Here we gooo. Slow technical start until Flairs temper ramps up. It continues on as a technically sound match. Pretty good. Maybe could have been better, but prolly cuz the hype. Should have been the fucking main event tho. 3.5/5

9. Lex Luger v. Randy Savage
Why the fuck this is the main event is beyond me. Hall and Hogan get involved and fuck up the match for Savage blah blah blah. End with the usual Sting run down to fight the NWO. Anti climatic end. 0/5

Hmmmm. Idk. Im conflicted becahse there was some good shit here. But WCW always leaves me scratchin my head. like wtf was that match doing as the main event when it was the worst. Politics I'm sure. Regardless finally a good PPV.

Mark Henry vs Ken Shamrock starts the show. Shamrock is out with Ahmed Johnson and DOA since Mark is with the whole Nation. The match itself is the WWF standard at this time. Garbage.

They recap the Kane, Taker, Paul bearer shit.

Jeff Jarrett and Barry Windham vs LOD is next. The burial of LOD continues.

DX shenanigans. HBK wants to ref an Austin-Tyson match.

The Goldust and Vader feud keeps limping along..Kane attacks Vader.

New Age outlaws take on Cactus Jack and chainsaw charlie. An actual decent match :O. Ends in mayhem but still good.

Pantera v. Brian Christopher. Ehhh. Light-heavyweight division is still no cruiserweight.

New age outlaws attack and beat on Foley and Funk backstage.

Out comes the NWO. Savage verbally abuses them all. Hogan tries to talk Macho down. Savage still wants them to not help him. I enjoyed that chain of events.

Wrath vs DDP. Decent match.

Out comes Bret Hart. ...In more ugly ass boots. He says Flair is always gonna be the man. Bret is moving on in WCW now. Talks about the Hogan-Sting title shit. Bret says sooner or later he will be the best wcw champion ever.

Booker T vs Saturn. Booker is lookin like a badass. Good lil match. Crowd was dead tho. Martel also comes out.

Jericho time! Rey is goin through leg surgery because of him! Jericho is gonna dedicate the cruiserweight title win to rey but changes his mind and dedicates it to himself first and his fans second and then to rey 3rd lolol. Jericho says he would never powerbomb someone on his head intentionally! and he would certainly never try and injure someones leg. Jericho fakes tears and thanks the fans. hahahaha spoiler alert. Jericho will be one of the highlights of the show for the next year.

Steve McMichael v. British Bulldog. Bulldog wins his debut, but it sure was sloppy.

Nash vs Ray Traylor. Ray gets coffee to the face and then power bombed. Nash gets arrested apparently.

Hall vs Luger. Man, these Luger main events can kindly fuck off. Luger gets Hall in a rack but out comes Macho man who whacks Luger with a chair. Macho beats on Luger. Down comes sting, who kicks Macho off the top rope as he is coming down from the rafters! lmao. Pretty great. Sting gets Macho in the death lock. Hogan and Hall decide to not help Macho.

Pretty entertaining Nitro IMO.

Rey Mysterio Jr vs Chris Jericho


I just want to say the ending to this match was hilarious, with the commentary calling Jericho the most worthless champion they've seen in months and really working hard to put him over as a heel. I felt he was trying to hard as well. I can see why he switched to WWF eventually for a fresh start. He really was just only growing to his own with the "rock star" gimmick at the time. The commentary legit made me crack up.

I think they were going to say he was the most worthless and vile champion in years, but then they quickly had to remember we're only less than 2 years off of Hogan "betraying" the entire WCW so they reigned it in.

lmao I just listened to jerichos podcast with Bret Hart and Jericho said how when people started getting over on their own they would cut their legs right from under them soon after. Jericho luckily got away with with for awhile.

Ric Flair vs Bret Hart - the most surprising thing about this match was I'd been lightly waking up to the PPV the whole night on cruise control. Mid way into this match I really started paying attention to every move. I was switched on. The whole thing was quality, except for Bret Hart's acting skills in the midst of a Figure 4. It's the Attitude/nWo era and this guy still has it in his head he is performing for young kids on a Saturday morning.

Yeah I think they did pretty good. All the hype made it that much harder, really
