You know if this bill gets passed, it means no more porn on the net. If the FCC wins. They can tell you what you can and can't see on the internet. To me I think this is wrong. It is just as bad or worse then SOPA thing that people try to pass.

What do you think?

It will never happen. The idea of controlling the Internet is impossible. It's gone on too long for any control over it. It would be a never ending battle that in the long run they can't win. Even with all the money in the world there are too many people that can manipulate the Internet how they please. Like I said they could give it a solid shot, but in the end they won't win.

If anything they will control only the people who don't abuse it, making all their effort and investments pointless. Those who abuse it will still do so, just in different ways.

The costs shouldn't go up for the average end user, if they're streaming a lot. The networks can handle the traffic as it is. It will allow people who don't stream or use a lot of bandwidth to opt for lower priced plans that fit their own needs.

At least that's the theory. We'll see. I personally don't have a great deal of faith in businesses or government at this point, but the internet itself is driving so much in way of commerce and entertainment, I don't see either party letting it get strangled. There's just too much money involved in it.

So I heard the reason people are freaking out about this ...

Bigger webpages with more money will move faster and come up first on search results

For example when looking up an answer on google

*is olive oil good for anal*

You get 100 sponsors for olive oil listed in the order that they pay Google instead of the answer to your damn question

Next problem.... websites that are not as popular *like dxpnet* will go considerable slower than say Instagram and facebook

Next problem I heard that they can charge by WEBSITE rather than speed

Meaning it would be like

9.99 for internet with facebook

19.99 for internet with facebook and YouTube

29.99 for internet with all Google services ...

It's funny how everyone is against this thing..

We see petitions, people manifesting and everything in their power... and it's still not enough...

basically 20-30 people on the top have more power than all of us regular people... smh.

It's more telling how people spend, than whatever petitions they sign.

You once said "hey it's great you offer something for free, but I wish you would offer more of it."

And that's the kind of thing that leads to top 100-200 companies turning into top 5-10 competitors max. Because they can exploit the free mentality.

Case in point, porn being owned now by MindGeek

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MindGeek

All of us surfing for free porn are probably gonna be blowing a load of smoke trying to go for the morality argument of what's right or wrong. We've put the porn business in the hands of a bigger monopoly than ever before.

Mmmhh yeahhh but that's probably going to become illegal..

Don't follow the rules and our new internet? .. You go to jail!

+ Not everyone is a computer technician...

I think the idea of controlling the internet can be very easy to do for them.

I bet they think that too lol.

It was the same deal with downloading free music. People just figured out ways to do it more efficient and secretly.

Using a proxy and hiding yourself on the Internet is easy. You can't find someone you can't see. Hackers alone will exploit it daily. On top of that the average minded person could use a proxy server easily. If the Internet exists it can be used. If it can be used, it can be used from an invisible source. And from there thousands of illegal sites and sources will be flooding the new Internet daily. It will get so overwhelming for them that eventually the old Internet will take over. It's a battle they can't win. There is no controlling this. Except turning it off and not allowing 100% of the public to use it.
