I hate affirmative action.
The Trump administration is preparing to redirect resources of the Justice Department’s civil rights division toward investigating and suing universities over affirmative action admissions policies deemed to discriminate against white applicants, according to a document obtained by The New York Times.
The document does not explicitly identify whom the Justice Department considers at risk of discrimination because of affirmative action admissions policies. But the phrasing it uses, “intentional race-based discrimination,” cuts to the heart of programs designed to bring more minority students to university campuses.

Actually, within the context of undergrad schools, Asians are excluded from being a minority, because they are the "majority" now.
But I dislike Affirmative Action for different reasons.
But.... White people use affirmative action too lmao
Matter of fact... They tried to do away with affrimative action in the 90's ...and guess what black and Latina enrollment did go down. But so did white enrollment too lol
especially at schools like UCLA and alot of others... So remember this before you get your panties in a wad....There's always an Asian that can do it better...

You do know the govt regulates this stuff. I'm on the hiring committee for my company. When the govt tells you that you HAVE to hire minorities, more qualified candidates get dismissed (regardless of race)
I personally dislike affirmative actions because it has the adverse affect of your peers thinking you got the job, not based on merit, but race. Which means, the that if that person was an Asian/Hispanic/Black women, in a top rank job, to prove she got it off the context of her skills, she would end up having to work 10 times harder to prove such. Instead of some people believing it was because she was a women of minority.
I have seen this happen with my mom. That is why I dislike it.

And again... Before the law was ever put into place... There were OVER QUALIFIED APPLICANTS that were dismissed and turned away simply based on race... And your also dimissing the fact that alot of people still are today...cause the bottom line is a person is hiring... That person just like the rest of us have biases.. And to make sure those biases are regulated there are laws In place to protect people...

you do know that community colleges were free to anyone at one point because our taxes paid for them. now they take our taxes and change almost as much as a university. just saying.

Yep. They still are in some states. They also usually focus on teaching job skills. Which I think is fantastic and far more useful than a university degree in a lot of cases.

My beliefs are very much in like with Rabbit's as well. I literally don't care if a person is black, blue, yellow, purple, or orange. I just want everything to be based off the results, and skill of a person.

i think its more on personality then skills. Skills can be taught but personalities cant. just a thought. there was a time business hired more for that and taught the person how they wanted things to be run.
