Why are liberals such hypocrites?

OK this is from a British perspective but I think it applies everywhere. Like over here Labour politicians (what Americans would call liberals) like Tony Blair and Diane Abbott praise up the general education system but then send their own kids to expensive elite fee-paying schools. And media and showbiz people are like this too: like there is a white broadcaster here named Libby Purves who likes to give out this message about black people being "cool" but who has now moved to rural Suffolk (which has very few black people while still being conveniently close to London for her). And a "right on" singer-songwriter named Billy Bragg who again is white and who again likes to promote black people as being "cool" and pretend he has got solidarity with them but who again has chosen to live far away from where most black people live here. After all, if they really think that black people are so "cool" why don't they go and live with them?

It seems to me that there is such a credibility gap with liberals: they are such hypocrites because they say one thing and do another (it's like, "do as I say - not as I do!") With conservatives you might not like what they are saying but at least they do tend to walk their talk while liberals don't and that's what makes them hypocrites.
