8 months isn't a really long time, tbh.
How much have you spent time with him on a weekly/monthly basis? What's your interaction with him like prior to dating? Were there any flaws or problems in the relationship, and if so what were they? There's a lot of things to consider here, in terms of your emotional recovery from this break-up.
However long it takes is how long it takes.
It depends. You could had seen him a few times in this months OR live together OR meet on weekends…
I can’t really believe someone asks how long does it take to get over break up.
