Can a cancer man love a gemini woman?

So I'm a double gemini woman (sun and ascendent) with a venus in cancer and I am in love with a cancer man.

Like all cancer men he loves food, his mom, cuddling, and i've whitnessed him go from being unbelievably intimate to scuttling right back into his shell.

Like all gemini women, I love to talk, think, and cannot stay put no matter how much I try. But despite the reputations of my short attention span, I have loved this guy for over a year, even if I haven't really shown it.

We're both still very young and on again off again relationship has been mostly broken up by travel. He's in that phase right now where he's building his castle, so to speak, focusing on his career, getting a car and a studio. Ever since we started seeing eachother, about a year ago, he has not dated or slept with any other women. But it was he who said the "let's just be friends" line the last time around. We are in the same friend circle and share many mutual friends. Despite the fact that we've been just friends for the past five months, I still catch him looking at me out of the corner of my eye.

Sometimes I think it's hopeless. Other times I think I should just wait until he's more settled. I hear cancer men are slow and cautious and like to have their home established.
