SUN SIGN vs. MOON SIGN

OKay so we all know about sun sign basics, personalities, connections between the sun signs, but I just learned about the MOON sign, which goes a little deeper than the surface. It's like the real you, all your thoughts and feelings, which you do or do not outright display. It's why two people under the same sun sign can be completely opposite. It's why two people, who are obviously compatible via sun sign, but absolutely cannot make it work. It's the water sign, who has a moon in a fire sign, and can be a perfect angel, but turn into the devil....SOOO how much attention should we pay to the moon sign??

I am a pisces, my moon sign is scorpio...and I am like a scorpio to a tee!! and also pisces..I have a friend of whom I am so so close with, she's like my twin on the way we think, we're both very emotional, love romance(not with eachother,haha!)...She is a Taurus with a moon in Cancer....

hey, i'm a Taurus with a Cancer moon as well. maybe that's why i tend to get along with Pisces?? haha but i don't think i've ever met one with a Scorpio moon before, but i think i'm gonna look for one now (?) LOL. but yes, i am very deep for a Taurus, foh shizzle mah nizzle....

well, my moon sign is in Cancer (like i've stated.. 😄) and yeah, i think that it's a pretty big part of me. isn't Cancer the Queen of the Moon Signs or something?? so yeah.. that would make me very sympathetic, for a taurus, especially. but i think that it also makes me very weird. all the personality tests that i take come out to be INFJ (the rarest one out there). so yeah, i'm like on crack or something with a little bit of ESP.. HAHA. wow, that makes me very dangerous then!! eeeeeeyyyyyy......

but i love my little Piscean friends, so i would use my powers to keep them safe!! DAMN STRAIGHT!!

I think they are very important, in relationships, they are more important than two sun signs.
If you have good Sun-Moon connection with someone, it is wonderful, and if the two moons are compatible in addition to that, well, it is almost a soul-mate bond.

How do you figure out what is your moon sign?

I'm a scorpio with a capricorn moon. I think the typical description of someone with a capricorn moon is a bit harsh. I can be cold, I can be calculating- but in relationships, once trust is established, I'm extremely warm. Maybe pisces as my rising sign lightens things up a bit?

Oh yes I can definitely imagine! I am water with water..so imagine how emotional and intuitive I am constantly!! its like I'm a walking,talkin,feeling machine(if that's explicable!!hehe!) I just get effected by anyone and anything around me!

I took one of those tests that is "How Gemini are you?" and got 80% gemini(my sun sign) and took the "How sag. are you?" and got 93% (my moon sign).

Wow. I did some research on me. It looks like I am dualed-personality, chamaeleon-like, manipulating, and untrust-worthy. It specifically stated "tame or wild" depending on which twin was ruling me at that moment! Also, my venus is Leo. Interesting. The web site I was reading this on also stated that the moon sign had more influence on women than men. Hmmm.

I'm a cancer with a virgo moon. I think the moon shows up not just in my personality but in my physical appearance as well. People say I look so much like my virgo mom it's not even funny. I would say I am a tidy person and analytical. But I don't think it's grounds me emotionally because it's placed in the 8th house. Yeah, my emotions can pretty intense sometimes. And I do like all things dark and occult.

My moon sign is Virgo - (and being a Cap I'm my own best friend basically - but my own worst enemy sometimes too cause Caps are less likely to spend time making sure something is done right and just making sure it's done so but I find myself from time to time perfecting my actions - which is sometimes time consuming - esp. @ work! Oui mon - but I'm all earth sign - which is a good thing to me cause every aspect of my life is based on logic and meaning) I call myself a paranoid workaholic - (cause as a Cap I work sometimes as much as 15 days without a day off and when I finally do have off (with my Virgo moon) I'll be worried that the job isn't going to get done with the people they do have there and will (being a Cap) want to come in and make sure it's done right (see what I mean by my own worst enemy? lol) but there's also your mercury sign (the sign you communicate like - mine is aquarius) your saturn sign (what sign you work like - mine is Scorpio) your mars sign (your sign of energy - yknow how some signs have more energy than others - geminis being the most - mine is also aquarius there as well) and of course your Venus sign (what sign you love like - mine is Cap) and my ascending sign is Libra (I have been told I have somewhat of a charming personality so that would make sense 🙂

Unreal.... if you are male, what are you relationships with females like? interestingly enough, I had a really big crush on this guy who was the same, but he wasn't very open emotionally, which was very frustrating for me.

Thanks for bringing this up...it's why my name is Scorpioncrab-people always assume I'm a Scorp when they meet me and I've been accused of being very intense and scary! Me? I'm a sweet,sensitive Cancer! But my Scorp influence gets me into sooo much trouble (however, makes me a very interesting lover,for real!). When I just think I might be getting serious about a guy I ALWAYS check his entire chart! I really do believe the moon and ascendent play very vital roles in a persons personality.

its not just the sun, moon and rising...you have a sunsign, moonsign, venus, mercury, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune, pluto and the north node of the moon each in it's own sign. Then you have the aspects of wich house the planets are in. Your moon miht be in the 11th house wich would be different from a moon in the 5th house and so on. Then you have the planets angular position towards each other. If the moon (or any other planet) is sextile to your sun (or any other planet), it will create a personality different from a moon in opposision to your sun. This is all just a look at the surface. The deeper you look in the rabbit hole, the deeper the rabbithole gets. Who would have thunk my best relationship ever was and is with a capricorn girl with me being an aries. Well my moon is in capricorn. Astrology just got more advanced.

well... an earth sign can be sort of non emotional at times so i guess a pisces moon would bring some emotions into the picture, being a cancer all ready the extra emotion is just too much sometimes......oh well.

virgo is my rising sign...so no matter how emotional i am, i try like hell not to show it or show the massive reactions happening under the surface. i will express those feelings to people who are close to me though...with a mars in aries i REALLY can be very expressive. its funny when people who dont know me too well get the aries influence instead of the virgo....its like there is this whole other side that they wouldnt ever have guessed existed.

I am Scorpio with Libra rising. I used to think that all my Libra planets had this huge influence on my Scorpio-ness, but I am beginning to rethink that. I feel like with every passing month/year etc. I am becoming more and more Scorpio. I feel so intense lately, it's weird. I've got things going on personally that could account for a lot of it, but still. I just feel like I'm needing to crawl out of my skin lately. I'm freaking out. lol.

I hate contradiction. I didn't used to mind it so much, but, you know, I just want to fucking feel what I feel and that's that. None of this Libra second-guessing bullshit. 🙂

And by "Libra rising", I clearly mean "Libra Moon". (I have both in Libra, I got confused) 🙂

My sun sign is Gemini and my chart says that I have a sag. rising, but I am not sure if that is how I act- I'm looking at Cap. rising, which is closer to how it seems like I act and other people have told me the same thing, but I'm not sure. The thing about being a Gemini is that we are mutable and can change according to our surroundings or feelings. The Gemini comes out and I have a lot of Cancer in the rest of my chart, which also has an effect on my personality. In my search for my rising, I'm really trying to keep all those factors in mind...

moon sign does have important relevance into shaping of personality. afcourse none of the other planets can cover up the sun entirely , that is why the sun sign is most important - but yes i beleive the moon sign and the rising sign do play an imp role too

What a lot of people don't seem to understand is that a moon sign is your inner personality which expresses character traits one would have but wouldn't normally see in people as you would with the character traits of your sun sign. Although, it is also known that persons moon sign can also influence a persons sun sign, which would lead a person to believe that they act more like their moon sign then their sun sign simply because the personality traits of their moon sign may be considered more aggressive then the traits of their sun sign. The reason why you and your friend get along so well is because your sun and moon signs compliment one another so much in interacting with the personality traits both of you express in the sun and moon signs you're both born under. You being a pisces with a moon sign of scorpio compliments her taurus with a moon sign of cancer. Both sun and moon signs are compatible between you both although this can also work if ones sun and moon sign compliment anothers moon and sun sign. You may also be interested in reading up on rising signs, which are what I like to call 'the sign which expresses personality traits which we only show every now and then, on a more rare occasion.'
