this is not about office romances, rather about office couples. do you think it is fun to work with your partner/spouse, or atleast at same work place but maybe in different teams? i always imagined i would meet my partner at work, who would be my friend first and then we would fall in love. well, that did not or has not happened yet (other than one sided mental romances), but now i have started thinking about what would it be like to be a couple going to same work place.

at my work there are many couples, who started their careers there, fell in love (maybe), and got married. you can often see them hanging out with each other at lunch at work, driving in same car to work. but is it fun after a certain period? 24*7 being with your spouse? maybe it is, because you have less reason to be suspicious/jealous of your spouse's colleagues, you can check in on them any time you want, they have nowhere to escape from your scrutiny hahah.

or would it be more fun/romantic to work at different places, share your work experiences, call each other during the day, plan alone time from work. or are you always going to worry about the hot people your spouse is working with?

My ex and I worked in the same general place. It was definitely nice. He would stop in to check on me as he was passing by, stop in on his breaks, bring me food, he'd drive me home and to work sometimes, etc. I really enjoyed it. : ) After the fact, it kind of sucks, but he can easily avoid passing by my work area if he so wishes, which makes things pretty easy. My ex worked as a mechanic, so I didn't have to worry about girls...but before he was a mechanic, he was on a crew with girls. It didn't bother me, though. All in all, it was definitely an A+ experience and would do again!

I worked with my ex at the same place for a long time. For the most part it was fine. Basically, she did her job, and I did mine. There were actually lots of people that took a long time to figure out that we were married. There were lots of hours for "romance" when not at work.

One down side though was that she had a habit of "telling stories out of school," which at times could be somewhat embarrassing to me. I had to remind her once in a while that such personal stories really weren't anything our co-workers needed to be told.

One of the other down sides was that when she wanted to talk about her day, well, I had just experienced the same day and I really didn't need a review.

Commuting together was very nice. Having someone I could really talk to at work a good thing. Having someone that close who fully understood what I was going through because they were in the same situation was a very good thing at times. She "got it," is the point.

I've worked with my spouse ... and there have been prolonged times of being together 24/7 without any breaks for years at a time.

for the two of us, it was fine because we get along amazingly, and we want to be side by side all the time. But, when I look at the whole picture (30 years of marriage) .... I like it better when we have time apart.

He's Virgo, I'm Pisces and it's the nature of both of us beasts to have time alone ... his in his head to "think", mine in my fantasy to "dream" ... but, it's still alone time. And having space is very important to both of us.
