You should just respect the fact that hes doing an honest days work, not all girls can say that. What do you do for a living? Do you have the right to say that about him? If you love the guy, encourage him, give him the drive to do better. I know when Im with a girl and I love her, I want to better, there is no regression, only progression.
dream - i agree that i should respect him for doing an honest day's work. it's much better than him being a drug pusher or something! if i were with him i would definitely encourage him to follow what he wants to do more and not get stuck in something he doesn't really have a passion for the way he does with film.
bella - thanks very much! it matters a lot to me what he does because, although we're only friends at the moment, i actually see a future with this one! 🙂
oh and i've not picked a career yet but i volunteer with kids at the moment because i really love working with children and (being a cancer) he really respects that. 🙂
"What do you guys think? Have you been with someone who had a career you didn't respect?"
If it's not extremely against my beliefs, It's fine as long as, I respect where she's headed. The road to one's destination may not be the nicest but understanding the role it plays on her getting there, will make me respect it more.
Lol...you don't respect his career. But you don't even have a real job.
Hahaha. 😄
Well I do have a real job, I'm just not paid to do it yet because I'm still in the training stage. Although so is he. He's basically an intern.
Screw it, I love him. He could sweep the streets and I'd still think he was a God.
hey nihilist!
you're right, it's a really competitive industry that he has entered so I guess it's only right that he should start at the bottom.
hopefully he will become a great film maker - he's incredibly talented.
ahhh i love him so much 😄
Cute.
If that was all I didn't care for, I would not even be concerned with it. I would just be adoring him like crazy which it sounds like you already do.
This is a very stranger topic and surprised you would care about something so small (to me).
I see it as a job that pays. That's all it is. If you know that he's just starting off and he'll be doing something better and much greater, why care?
i see what you mean aquasun. idk really it just bugged me for some reason.
Out of all the stuff to worry about, I think what he does for work is probably the last thing to worry about...
As long as he brings home a steady paycheck and isn't bummin around don't sweat it.
hahaha! excellent point.
it was more that he works in a field that i find really shallow and meaningless but i'm not interested in being with a career, but being with a PERSON and it's who he is that really matters.

The guy I like (and have liked for looooong time) is perfect to me in pretty much every way. Except one.
I don't respect his career. I don't want to say exactly what it is but he basically works for a media company who produce a lot of reality/competition based tv. It's just a stop-gap for him really as he's only just out of uni and he eventually wants to make films but it really bugs me that he does this commercial, souless work that creates dumbed-down entertainment for the masses. Thing is, I know he's better than that.
What do you guys think? Have you been with someone who had a career you didn't respect? Bear in mind, I'm not actually with him (yet...getting closer! 😉 )
