oh sure. blame everything on the modern slut. i deny all association to the creation of this thread.
seriously...i would have to say that any age before understanding what being sexually active entails (the risk of pregnancy and STDs, and the importance of the proper measure of protection both physically and emotionally) is too young to lose your virginity. i don't see anyone being able to realistically grasp these things until at least preteen age, and likely beyond then.

Everybody else does!
We used to blame witches - consider it progress...
*sigh*..."civilization"...

I'd agree with that. I lost mine just before 15. Probably would've been better if I'd waited another year. But, when opportunity knocks...
Anything under 21

Nice try!
You started this train of thought over on the Scorpio Board.
As a follow-on question: How many DXPers wish they would've waited a while longer before becoming sexually active?
(And no, this is not a veiled / clever way for us to talk about sex.)
Honest.
i definitely wish i'd waited longer. i've been exposed to sexual contact since a very young age (no, not abuse, in case anyone thinks that), and some of the effects that it's had are not positive.
wheels,
I am genuinely sorry to hear that.
My younger Scorpio Brother lost his virginity at 13, and I have to wonder if that's not part of his problem dealing with women 30 years later...
I waited before going 'all the way'. I was pressured but ... I was involved in so much stuff in high school. It was easy to ignore stuff regarding sex.
It sucked at times because I always had guy friends and the rumors were all over the place π’
Anyway, I didn't lose my V in my teens, thanks to alot of will-power, good people and ... divine intervention maybe lol
They say the human brain doesn't fully develop until around age 24, so anything under that.

well, i've been able to identify some of the negative stuff and work on it. so it hasn't been all bad.
kudos to you cappy for waiting until you were ready. so many people give in to pressure before they are.
the ladies who have said twenties: are those your serious answers?
For a female her main concern should be to let go of the fairy tale that your "first" will be your last. If a woman picks a friend instead of a lover she will look back with fond memories no matter how old she is. But if she picks a boyfriend the relationship will end and her first experience will always be attached to heart break. Its not about "when" its about choosing wisely.

The Question: How young is too young to lose your virginity?
I say one is ready when he/she has reached at least a basic sense of self. You shouldn't start sharing something of yours, that you're not somehow aware of, yourself. Otherwise it will be defined and controlled by others.
My advice is that one should get to know himself/herself first, before engaging with others.
I lost mine at 19, I honestly wish I had waited, I dont even speak to the girl anymore.
I agree with wheelhomies. Lost mine at 17. I understood and knew what I was getting into. Not a boyfriend, more like a friend. Don't regret it and I shouldn't. It's experience and I knew he wasn't going to be my last anyway.
The first time is always the hardest and now it's done with lol.
And wow @ twenties. All from the women of course π
I don't think there is a age necesarily. People mature differently. I know 16 year olds who grew up too fast and are definately mature enough for sex. But I also know a 30-something-year old virgin who I don't think will ever be ready for sex. So it really depends.
I, personally, was 17 and we had been together for a year before we had sex. And actually, we talked about it for months before we did it...which sounds wierd, but I was originally saving myself for marriage and he knew that, so he wanted to make sure I didn't feel pressured into it or something - he wanted me to know he didn't care if we did or not.
& he was my first real love, so it works out that he was my first for everything else. (We're still together anyways.)
So, I don't regret it and I don't think I was too young. We knew what we were doing.
