So one of my female cousins is dating a self-proclaimed reformed player lol.Basically this guy used to cheat on every single one of his girlfriends until a near death experience supposedly "changed his life" and made him a "new man".
I met him a few times and came away with the impression that he was quite the smooth talker.
My cousin says she trusts him with her heart completely. I laughed and told her she was naive for believing anything that came out of his mouth lol
Call me judgemental but I don't believe that a former player can truly transform him/herself into a faithful lover and REMAIN that way.
I feel like my cousin is setting herself up for yet another heart break but she's a grown ass woman capable of making her own decisions so I'm gonna keep my mouth shut lol
What do you guys think though? Would you trust a former player with your heart—
yes and no.
sometimes i think people are capable of change and other times i dont.
how old is he? cant teach an old dog new tricks
since most behaviors are learned i guess it's possible to unlearn them. depends on how solid and deep his motivation to change is.
People find a mate they want to finally be exclusive with all the time. But cheating is a moral issue, the question is has he changed in that area, is he someone who is capable of being faithful? Has he addressed his insecurities, does he know why he was cheating?
A cheater and a player are not always synonymous.
Let her find out, and keep us posted; I'm curious of the outcome myself. What are their signs? LOL
My cousin is a Cancer so naturally she wants to fix and rescue people. That's her way of being nurturing. She wants to feel needed. Most of her previous boyfriends were lost causes. I wouldn't go so far as to say that she's attracted to losers but she's never been really lucky in the love department.
I have no idea what this guy's sign is but he's in his late twenties.
ew. once a player always a player. those people don't change in general. but there are bound to be some exceptions out there. would i give them a chance? no. too risky. sorry. i'm not that open-hearted. there are some sob stories that i'm willing to take seriously and some i won't even bother listening to.
i dunno. i've had a near death experience and it certainly changed me. depends on what happened to him but he may well be looking at life with a different perspective. it does happen. having said that, there's always the chance of falling back into old patterns over time. it depends on what changes he's made that are tangible as to whether he is truly reformed.
fact is you can't trust anyone, player or not.
