not necessarily weird. pointless though. early on, men will either tell you what they think you want to hear or they will tell you what they want (which might be what you want to hear). how are you going to tell the difference between a guy who's just saying the best thing that comes to mind and one who's speaking from his heart?

i think you're better off trying to find a way to communicate what you want without coming on too strong. like, try discussing where you see yourself in 5-10 years SANS kids and a man. where do you see yourself in terms of your career, education, environment? if you plan on moving to a new city/state, that opens up the topic of relocation. maybe he'll chime in and tell you that he's always wanted to live in "x." if you hate "x,' you might hate him too.

in other words, communicate as you normally would with any stranger. you can find the answers you want in a round about way rather than scaring him off by being too direct. a no no would therefore be...

"i've always dreamed of a big house in the suburbs with 2.5 kids, marble counter tops and wood floors, a pool out back with a riding lawnmower, a mother-in-law sweet, a great dane,..."
