The principal here isn't contingient on status. If you think it wrong for a chick to sit on your mans lap .. then the principal here is that you think its a wrong thing for a woman to do .. whether or not this man is taken isn't a part of the equation.

Personally, I consider sitting on someone's lap moreso an intimate thing. Here's why...of all the chairs & things to sit on in the world, why chose that person's lap? Sitting on someone's lap represents comfort & closeness. It's also another way to flirt or be territorial. The reason alot of women sit on their boyfriends laps is b/c it represents a small form of intimacy & closeness b/w the 2 of them. And when you see a woman sitting on a male friend's lap, it represents the same thing, regardless of whether or not the title is there. Depending on the circumstances & depending on what the person sitting on their lap means to them, can decide if the whole "lap" thing should be taken lightly. If I walked up & saw a friend or some stranger sitting on my man's lap, I'd be offended b/c of what sitting on his lap could and probably DOES mean. It'd be a direct implication of disrespect, 1. b/c the woman is sitting on his "manhood" & possibly activating the part in him sexually that only I, as HIS woman should have access to. But it all depends on the person, the relationship/friendship & the circumstances. The whole "lap" thing is no different than giving men hickeys. To some, it represents being territorial over the person you already have OR want. To others, it's just a harmless sign that fun has or WILL take place.

depends. i have male friends, some with girlfriends/boyfriends, whose lap i've sat upon in a purely platonic way. some of them are more naturally flirty than others. the girlfriends/boyfriends already know of it so it's not a big deal. would i be ok with some girl sitting on my guy's lap? depends on the girl and the relationship. some random chick in a bar would make me uncomfortable. however, i know that he isn't the type to allow that to happen anyway. he's not a PDA phobe but he's not really into it either.

That only when guys are having their male bonding (also gay play). no, ur right, i do swing both ways but i'm a fairly easy-going and reasonable person. like i said before, it all depends on the person and circumstance. i would be ok with it if i knew that both my man and the girl were close friends and naturally flirtatious ppl. if this was something they had always done then it's not a big deal to me. now if it was just some random chick we met in a dive bar somewhere then, no, it's not cool.

also, i rarely stare anyone down. i don't compete and my man knows what would be considered disrespectful to me. that's why my relationships tend to work out so well. the communication is spot on and i assert myself. in fact, back in october my man was playing a gig for his tour kick off. there was this chick i met there and she was pretty trashed. he came up to us to talk for a minute and she honed in and grabbed his junk right there. he stopped, looked at me, then turned around and walked away. we weren't even official at the time but he already knew. this is from a sexually liberated and progressive guy.
