"Your Loss"

I find this to be the ultimate defensive rejection response.

I could only laugh to myself after a long time friend who I started dating used it on me. This was all over the restaurant we ate at. Simply because we had two choices decided on one over the other and I later realised the other choice would have been better. Jokingly I said he should have dragged me in by my hair with duck tape over my mouth! Response - your loss

I find it funny as often it isn't at all a loss I could just go to the one where I live.

Anyone else been on the receiving end or used this when feeling hurt??

Your loss not mine if someone grabbed you by your hair and ducked my mouth per boyfriend. Hm I guess this is humor cause then I would be like karate chop your kneecap or straight for carotid artery your loss. And laugh since it's humorous.

Or you broke up and that's what you guys did together in the bedroom and remember memories that were bdsm type of stuff. Lol

And your loss because you guys broke up and awkward talking to an ex like that.

Well when it comes to food how about one picks a restaurant they want to eat at, then go to the other ones choice for dessert. Split it right in the middle. Both parties are happy. Both went mutually out there way to accommodate each other different views.

I haven't been on the receiving end but on the giving it end. That is how I feel and I express that to the other party - especially when they have blown me off for a very stupid reason ...

Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all, unless of course like in this situation, we will go out again at some point and probably end up at the nicer restaurant anyway-think he was just sulking a bit lol

Sounds more like he was simply saying "oh well, you wanted to go to the restaurant you choose and missed out on the other," a perfect opportunity cost scenario. Seems to me like you're taking it personally considering you are the one deciphering it all on a message board AND no break up occurred just a disappointing meal at a disappointing restaurant.

Seems like a lot of pondering over something so little.
