You don't know. Assuming relationship status is a big mistake many women do. Just no. I don't care if he clings to you like a cat coming down from a tree. Stop it.

Nothing other than a mutual agreement of exclusivity will make it so. 'The talk' is mandatory.

It really shouldn't be that difficult. Windows to bring it up will undoubtedly open if the communication is there, which it should be if you want to be more serious with this person. You simply need to take advantage of that opportunity unless he brings it up himself. How you bring it up is as simple as asking, "How do you feel about being exclusive?"

Hmmmm maybe it's the kind of guy you are dating... In my experience if there's mutual trust and affection and he has you in his sights for an exclusive commitment a man will generally make it pretty clear at some point, verbally that is. (I'm talking "official relationship")

If he finds you attractive and he wants to be around you he'd lock you down quickly for his own peace of mind

I mean, if you're stringing this along for longer than approx 3 months I'd say the boundaries are blurring and that is something you are BOTH responsible for IMO

If you yearn for a definite label, then you should ask him for it.

One way or another.

At least then you'll know! Good luck! 🙂

How do I know when I was in a relationship without him telling me? His friends refer to me as "The Girlfriend".

Edit to add:

Specifically, "The girlfriend" whose fault it was that he scalped himself shaving getting ready for a spontaneous dinner date.

I'm responsible for my boyfriend going to the emergency room and I was in another zip code at the time.

I asked a guy that and he said just "fwb maybe because of emotions though". Well damn that all I'm worth with whatever we had been talking about. That's the number one deal breaker. I just didn't say anything about. I shortly detached after telling me that probably doesn't know I don't fly with those fwb things because I do have feelings and desire the love through meaningful interaction and it's meaningless if it's no bond and suddenly it was all a game. Damn move on to one else that wants fwb. I'm not the one.
