I can not loose any weight! I've only been able to work out a few times a week, but nothing seems to be working and I need a boost for sure! I've fluctuated somewhat but now I'm at my heaviest and want to loose 15 lbs. Guess when you get older it gets harder. Or maybe my hormones are acting up again sometimes they are real bad and I can't loose weight and nothing I do seems to work.
You know I lost my freshmen 15 a couple summers ago working at this Italian Restaurant. They made almost everything fresh even their dough, and nothing had preservatives in it.
What I would do is snack a lot, think a small handful (half your palm) of food every 20-30 mins (lol this restaurant had really slow business; it was in the middle of nowhere). I ate from their salad bar which had a lot of good cold pasta dishes, I didn't touch much of the salads but the cold pastas were delicious. I would also have a lot of soup and garlic bread. The thing was I only had small meals. For example I would buy a dish for lunch and only eat half of it and save the other half for dinner.
I ate enough to keep me satisfied but not like I over stuff myself, I mean I was working too lol.
Also, I would exercise at least 3 times a week for 45 mins. I did the Carmen Electra strip aerobic videos, they do work! if you do the whole thing and consistently.
Before that summer I was 127-130 lbs but after that summer I went down to 110 lbs. It's funny because I never thought I'd lose that much, I was just working to get an apartment with my ex boyfriend and on the plus I lost all that weight.
So, I think the best thing to do is be consistent, eat healthy, snack (healthy) a lot, eat small meals (by cutting your portions in half), and exercising at least 3 times a week; which if you think about it is not a lot.
Do weights as well as cardio Don't stick to the same routine all the time, try mix it up or change it completely every 4-6 weeks Interval training is a great way to burn lots of calories for longer by working out for less time. For example, jog for 2 mins, sprint for 1 min (and I mean a flat out, gut-busting sprint). Do this for 10 mins and you are doing as much as those people who are on the treadmill for an hour.
This works for me, I lost about a stone, and it keeps me interested. I work out about 3 times a week for around 45-50 minutes a time, else I forfeit a workout for a class.
I agree w/ xtina big time ... little ( but mostly healthy ) snacks all day long. Definately force yourself to start eating breakfast before you leave for work. Keep a bag of nuts/almonds/sun flower seeds at your desk if that's your work env. Also always try to have fresh fruit available to eat whenever. Some sweets may be ok for you too in small quantities throughout the day ... you could bring in little baggie of maybe 6 cookies and have 3 before lunch and 3 after. Of course, the more raw veggies and fish you eat the better. When you do eat meat, be finiky ... really trim the fat/skin off.
If you smoke, quit and take a couple 10-20 min walks everyday instead. Of course there's always taking stairs instead of elevators and parking far instead of close to get little exercises in throughout day. Minimum time to have your heart rate raised each day is 20 min. So find 20 min each day to get some vigorous activity in ... sex is good choice 'cause you can kill 2 birds w/ one stone and save some time that way.
