Can a sag and cancer have a good relationship!

i'm a sagittarius and one time, I was in a relationship with a cancer. It ended quite badly. As friends, it worked out perfectly--i guess that was the mistake, cuz you'd think that a relationship would seem like a likely option-- but it doesn't work out. It's definitely not a match made in Heaven, to say the least.
