Sagittarius Moon

I'm just starting to learn about my moon sign, and how important it is in astrology.

I have my moon in Scorpio. And my sun sign is Libra. A laid-back Libra with intense emotions brimming under the surface, in other words. "Still waters run deep", never rung truer.

I'm curious about the pairing of Scorpio moon with someone with their moon in Sagittarius.

Is there anyone with their moon in Sagittarius? Or do you have someone close to you with their moon in Sagittarius? What is your favourite part and least favourite part of this influence?



When it comes to my sun sign, Libra, - I enjoy the good fire of a Sagittairus. I find Libra and Sag sun signs to be very compatible.

But how compatilble is a Scorpio Moon with a Sagittarius Moon? Does anyone have any experiences to share about this coupling? I feel as though the fiery Sag moon will understand the emotional intensity of the Scorpio moon, and that they will energise each other and create some hot steam. The Scorpio moon will give mystery and adventure to the Sag moon. And they both seek authenticity in all things and the freedom for growth of consciousness.

But Scorpio moon is darker and give and seek complete devotion, while the Sag moon is more concerned with freedom at all cost. Or so they say, I've started to wonder whether the Sag trait of fearing commitment is somewhat a myth, as I've started to get to know some Sag Sun Signs. Many of them are in long term committed relationships, all though maybe with no desire to marry, the ones I know are no less committed.

I'm mostly curious as I am Libra Sun, Scorpio Moon, Scorpio Venus, Libra Mars that has just started dating another Libra Sun, Sagittarius Moon, Scorpio Venus, Leo Mars. Will we emotionally fulfil each other long term?

I love me some Scorpio Moons... But I have Moon Conjunction Pluto so maybe that's why. And it's in the 1st House, and Moon in 1st House is Watery like Cancer, no?

Thank you for your comment, as I said I'm new to this and learning, so appreciate the comment.

Can I ask how your Sag moon affects you? And what is it about Scorpio Moons that make you, quote "love" them? You mention having other watery placements like Cancer, - as in water attracts water?

With my Libra Sun sign, the water sun signs Cancer and Pisces I both admire and almost want to take care of, at the same time as their sensitivity, insecurity and drama gives me hives. Having a lot of watery Scorpio in my chart doesn't seem to smooth out my annoyance with them. Which is a little hypocritical of my sensitve Scorpio moon.

I love the fire, openness, authenticity and bluntness of sags.

Dear lord I do not understand the emotional intensity of anyone who is emotionally intense. I’m more into light-hearted folks who keep their attachment level low (although I’m dating an overly-attached person rn 😂😂). I don’t sweat the big stuff, so I seek the same in others.

Sagittarius moon here.

My mother has a scorpio moon and i can say having arguments in this matchup can be extremly frustrating for someone with a sag moon. Scorpio moon is running away and avoiding conflict all the time and need to be taught on how to discuss things without feeling hurt. Might be my sag mars, though. I like to deal with things openly and once and for all.

I'm not sure about the emotional part. A sag moon is, well, emotional without being emotional. I like to get myself worked up just to feel the heat pumping through my veins but that doesn't mean im deeply involved in things. It more about the flow than everything else.

Sag moon doesn't fear true commitment. We are just extremly picky and only stay in a relationship if its a healthy one.

Our blunt honesty might held the scorpio mooner to get over his trust issues as long as they don't try to control and/or manipulate us. Conflict is guaranteed if you try.

We also might ignore your stingy behaviour as long as it isn't constantly happening because we just don't care.

Our profound philosophical nature might be a good pairing for a scorpio moon.

What do I like most about my moon?

Well, the independence. I need no one and keep going alone until the end of time. It's also very handy to get back on track no matter what happens.

The most important thing however: humor. Everything is a joke in the end.

If you want it to work you need to be open and upfront about your emotions. You lose if you try to play mindgames. We don't have time for that nonsense. 😛

I'm wondering whether some of what you are describing might be due to other placements in your and your mother's chart?

I for example don't agree with the Scorpio moon running away and avoiding conflict. But maybe it is my Libra sun sign that makes this influence different with me? Is there anyone else with Scorpio moons that feel that it is accurate that they run away from conflicts?

I feel I'm the opposite, I find conflicts upsetting - and I'm admittedly probably too emotionally invested in arguments, - I'm intense. But I will not back down from being confronted or from confronting someone else. My Libra sun helps me be diplomatic in my confrontations most of the time though, and I'm fairly easy-going most of the time. I know it is said that Libras avoid confrontation because they always wants to please others, but that's not fully accurate. Libras are too idealistic, argumentative, with a strong sense of fairness and holds oneself to too high standards too back out of confrontation as easily as some claim. I think my Scorpio moon will sometimes make me fly off the handle and strike out with harsh verbal lashings when I feel I or someone else have been treated unfairly, for example.

But my libra sun also helps me to detach from situations and discuss something through most of the time. My Libra cool air thus avoids some of my emotional Scorpio moon outbursts. My temper is memorable to people though... It's expected I suppose, when I'm overall quite sweet tempered and calm, it then takes people by surprise when my Scorpio moon stings them.

But mostly I think I just admire the bravery to speak so openly. I can read people pretty well anyway, so I suss people out also if they are not blunt and honest. Again I wonder whether my admiration for bluntness is because of my tactful Libra sun, the contrast to myself humours / tickles me somehow. I don't know why, but I actually find it endearing when sag suns/moons are "too" blunt and put their foot in their mouth. 😉

I guess I also admire it, because my Scorpio moon makes me not always able to express my emotions in words, even though I desperately want to. I’ve read that children with Scorpio moons are often taught to bottle up their emotions in childhood, and that is difficult to shake off in adulthood.

My emotions overtake me in a visceral, all-consuming way and I’m afraid that the intensity and complexity will overwhelm others. My Scorpio moon intensity makes my people-pleading Libra scales swing and my Libra indecisiveness tries to figure out how I should express something the best way, - this way or that way. One wrong decision and the whole world could fall apart, in the head of a Libra. Or worse, I could hurt someone else’s feelings. Imagine that angst being intensified by a Scorpio moon. 😉

Maybe the not-so easily bothered Sag moon, will lessen the fair that my intensity could hurt his feelings.



"Our profound philosophical nature might be a good pairing for a scorpio moon." Yes, I think it pairs well with the Scorpio moon's need for constant transformation. And I think a Sag moon will find Scorpio moon to never be dull. In my experience sag moon finds Scorpio moon exciting and alluring.



"If you want it to work you need to be open and upfront about your emotions." Thank you, I'm forever trying. Difficult with Libra in Mars also. 🙂 I'm honest, but subtle.

And I'm not too into mind games, though I do use manipulation camouflaged with my Libra charm. But I am secretive / don't open up easily. I feel as though my Scorpio moon needs to have developed a deep sense of trust first, so that real, raw, honest emotions can be dealt with and shared openly between me and the other. I wonder whether Sag moons like to rise to challenges like that and if they are patient enough in the long run?

And will an independent Sag moon be able to hold onto a Scorpio moon that seeks devotion and needs to bond with the other? I'm hoping that since the guy I’m seeing also has his Venus in Scorpio, as I do, that will help.

My Libra sun is also independent in an airy way, and I get hives if my partner is too clingy, texts me too much, keeps tabs on me. One day I'll do my thing and he can do his thing, the next day he gets my full attention, affection and admiration.

My Sag Moon can be a nightmare because of the bluntness you mentioned. Don't know if you've ever seen Mean Girls but it truly is like WORD VOMIT. It just comes. Especially after you've had a few drinks. And after you said it you realize "oh shit, maybe I shouldn't have." Sometimes we come off too forward. And sometimes we're super friendly and it comes off like we're flirting when we just want to meet new friends.

And yes, I think having Moon in my 1st House makes me more understanding of Water Moons. And yeah, Water attracts Water. What I love about Scorpio Moons is their depth, their complexity and how easy they understand and "get" people. Like when I'm feeling awkward in a room, I can just look at a Scorpio Moon with my eyes and they will understand how awkward I'm feeling and they'll come to the rescue, and vice versa. Also I like how intriguing, loyal and private they are. When they say something, they mean it. And when they open up to you, FULLY, not just bits and peaces, you know you're a special person in their life because they usually NEVER do.

I find the word-vomit endearing. It's amusing, and it tickles me. 😉 It's such a contrast to my Libra Sun, Scorpio Moon, - so I admire, appreciate, cringe and fall in love with the directness of fiery placement.

Your comment made me happy. I do recognise that people seem to be drawn to me, always wanting to open up to me after only a short time of knowing each other. Probably also because they sense that I have already intuitively understood who they are, anyway. No point in hiding in my flood lights. 😉 I love that people find me trustworthy, that I make them comfortable and understood - it's almost my raison d'être.

But not many are allowed underneath my skin. I seem to remain a mystery to many, I don't mind most of the time, as I'm quite independent. I've had boyfriends shake their head and say "You're a wonderful girl, but so fucking complex". My Scorpio Moon took the jibe of being complex as a compliment though. 😉

But everyone longs to be understood, so I make the ones who have the patience know and feel how truly special they are to me. 🙂

Ha, ha - well I don't blame ya. I don't always understand my Scorpio Moon emotions either. ;D

Maybe it’s a good thing that the Sag placement can be a little indifferent / not easily bothered when the Scorpio Moon is too heavily into their emotions. But would a Sag moon have patience with it you think? And would a Sag moon want to try to understand, or would it just be annoying?

I wonder how it is to be Scorpio Sun with Scorpio Moon? Poor things!

My easy-going Libra breeze, makes me more light-hearted as well. My Scorpio Moon just gives me more depth, I suppose. The trait superficial Libra, does not fit me. Though, I think that might me a misunderstanding of most Libras anyway. I put great emphasis on aesthetics in my life, but that's because it feels so essential for my happiness.

A consistency of nonchalant behaviour would possibly make me very irritated. And in that case, I don't understand that about Sag placements. It confuses me that they seem to seek the truth and honesty in all things, so how can one be nonchalant about the truth? What's the purpose of seeking it and speaking it, if one is indifferent? My Scorpio Moon is baffled. 😉 I thought the need for authenticity bonds Scorpio moon and Sag moons?

And contemplating and not being indifferent about the big stuff in life - is life - how else do we grow and transform? Don't sweat the small stuff, but do sweat the big stuff! 😉

I'm a double Sag - sun and moon... 😄

I have two Scorpio moon peeps whom I'd consider more sisters than friends by now. My Pisces has been a friend for 17 years, the Aries for 15.

We'll start with the Pisces sun/Scorp moon. Well, how we met was we were sat next to each other in class and I basically pestered her until she couldn't ignore me any longer...ha! It's true though. Growing up we were a little yin/yang. Where she was reserved and quiet, I was loud and obnoxious. Where she was a little headstrong and bratty, I was a little more laidback and silly. We somehow balanced the other out a little I like to think. We've been there for each other through a lot. I was one of the, if not THE, first person she called when she found out her father passed away. Her family was my second fam - literally was there every week/end growing up.

The Aries sun/Scorp moon and I met in class and this time SHE was the one pestering ME - what a turn of events haha. But I quickly opened up to her and we instantly clicked - she became my partner in crime. She's just as headstrong as the Pisces, with a dash of stubborn added in, when she wants to do something SHE IS GOING TO DO IT...and she does it with no doubts, regrets or inhibitions. She's loves being the center of attention. I will say that every time I've been in trouble (with the law, or just in general) has been with this chick - she's totally a ride or die!

Anywhoozles...I enjoy their passion. Their depth. Their will to get shiz done. They may be a little too intense at times, but I'm Scorp dominant so I get it. Not sure how they've put up with my Sagittarian shenanigans this long but they're stuck with me for life now... 😄

Well, if a Scorpio moon has the desire to be authentic and desire other’s to be as well, no wonder I like the authenticity of Sag sun/moon placements.

My experience of Sag sun/moon placements are that they are always filled with wonder, seeking truthful answers, and are quick to call someone out on their bullshit. I’ve interpreted that as they do care about how authentic others are? But I’m aware that they are more detached than my moon sign, and I’m thankful for my detached Libra Sun sign. But therein is why I think a Sag moon would complement my moon sign, by giving me my space or cheering me up. With that said, when I speak of intensity of emotions, I don’t just mean the dark, sad or angry emotions, but the euphoria of the Scorpio moon, and the lust for life. That must surely be enjoyed by the light-hearted Sag moon/sun at least. 😉

And as Scorpio moons and Sag moons both are seeking growth of consciousness, maybe the insight my Scorpio Moon accumulates through deep diving into everything so intensely, can be of some value to the Sag moon, instead of just “well, that didn’t work.” 😉

I just now saw this lol; I didn’t read the whole thread before 😛

Yeah I guess I’ve noticed the fiery temper on some. Others don’t gaf, or maybe they were just good at concealing it 😆

The nonchalant thing... maybe it’s just a southern USA thing (particularity Louisiana) because all signs in the area seem to be happy/care-free/lively af, regardless of their situations in life. It’s a great ambiance that makes my sag moon feel very happy & at home 💜💛💚

I think communication, adventure -and fun-seeking, and psychologically the Moon signs are good together, but I think the potential future problems could be that the Sag Moon shuts down his emotions if they get too intense for him. I think Sag placements often seem detached, when really, they feel too much also, and it overwhelms them, so they shut it down. Which could be problematic in any relationship. My Scorpio Moon should probably be careful to not push the Sag Moon too much on this, all though a "small" push to allow himself to feel could be needed every now and again. I know he likes a woman to stand up to him. And I know he feels like I intuitively understand him, maybe he'll have a harder time understanding me emotionally, and I'll have to accept that. People seem to think so about our moon signs. I've not encountered this potential problem yet, but I've picked up on this tendency to shut down emotionally from stories he's told me from his past.

But do we only look at the compatibility between the moon signs, when looking at the Moon signs? Does one not also factor in compatibility between person A's Sun sign and person B's Moon sign, for instance?

I think my Libra Sun, is compatible with his Sag Moon for instance.

And I've read that one must also look at both Moon and Venus by sign, as one's Venus sign governs how you view relationships, what you want in a relationship, how you act in a relationship and to some extent the type of person you are attracted to. Because Venus reveals what we love, find pleasing, and what turns us on. Both our Venus signs are Scorpio, and my Moon sign is Scorpio, - could one read some compatibility there-in?

Regarding Venus, I'm curious if I should also look into Venus in Libra, since Libra is governed by Venus? Does anyone know? We are both Libra Sun signs. Would that signify anything?

As a disclaimer, I am interested in how one reads compatibility from an astrological chart, and I'm using my current "dating life", to help me see if I understand the readings. I'm not using it to figure out if I should keep on dating this guy, I wouldn't let astrology alone dictate that. 😉 We feel very compatible and had a sense of instant connection, almost fatedness at the moment. Time will tell. 🙂

But I want to learn more about astrology. When you write about the Moon signs being sextile for instance, I have no clue what that means. 😉 I think my Scorpio Moon is 11 degrees, I have no clue what degree his moon sign is. But his ascendant fits Sagittarius or Leo description, in my opinion. Which would make his time of birth around 01am or 12pm? But maybe it is his Mars in Leo I'm picking up on. His Mars sign seems to be a strong influence on him, as it would when Mars is in a fire sign.

I think that Scorpio Moon with someone with a Mars in Leo, makes the relationship very hot and steamy. But possibly we should be careful of "drama" as well, as he can be very assertive which could possibly spark some annoyance in me if overdone too often, and my Scorpio Moon would loose patience and sting his big paw. Hopefully our Libra Suns can keep the balance. 😉

My Mars is in Libra, which I also think could be compatible to his Mars, as I react to the energy of others, I'm more go with the flow and very open. Many Leo Sun signs have liked my sensual and doting ways in the past. 😊

I’m aware, and I think it is obvious, that because we feel very compatible, I’m more inclined to see the factors of compatibility in our charts, than not. 😉 I’m by no means looking for doom-and-gloom predictions, as I wouldn’t pay heede to that in any astrological chart reading. But thoughts about how one would read the compatibility from a more neutral perspective, is much appreciated and interesting. 😊

Unfortunately Sag-Scorp Moon is not good enough. to my taste at least. Maybe. not a catastrophe. but some wishes are still open.

maybe Venus=Moon helps.

maybe ScorpMoon is under 5 degree and SagMoon above 25? if yes,there's a sextile and then it looks better.

Yeah I guess I’ve noticed the fiery temper on some. Others don’t gaf, or maybe they were just good at concealing it 😆

The nonchalant thing... maybe it’s just a southern USA thing (particularity Louisiana) because all signs in the area seem to be happy/care-free/lively af, regardless of their situations in life. It’s a great ambiance that makes my sag moon feel very happy & at home 💜💛💚

In my experience with the Sag Moon I'm dating now, he actually admits to being a very emotional man, but he shuts it down most of the time, unless it's an emotion of anger. That might be he is Mars in Leo though, as I think the Leo force is strong in this one. 😉 He hasn't been angry with me (yet), 😉 but I've witnessed Sag placement tempers before.

I don't know much about Louisiana, other than that the accents is freakin' adorbs!

This thread made me aware of several things. I am a scorpio moon myself, currently getting to know a sag mooner.

He is surely light hearted and emotional but does not seem to dwell on things or give them bigger space in his head, unlike the overwhelming unpleasant feelings I get when things go down in the dumps for me.

I am not happy with that, it consumes so much energy and time and I really need to change that, not sure if its possible to put my scorpio moon to sleep lol But, I admire how sag mooners seem independent and strong emotionally.

I wonder too if he will tolerate my intensity. We feel too much it hurts sometimes, whether its love, happiness, sadness. It just feels too much to take in. And I doubt sag moon is even close to that.

I think Scorpio Moons can be a little too heavy handed sometimes and put a lot of weight on the relationship that may make Saggy Moon feel a little trapped or stagnated, which may make it hard to last.

Can you elaborate on that? How do you mean it?

I love my moon! Only con is emotion problems but it's outweighed by the pros.

I don't know if I've had much experience with Scorp moons. But I think compatibility would be difficult unless they were fire dominant with a bit of air. And probably would have to have a fire or Aqua sun, relationship speaking. For friends it'd be no problem!😁
