BTW, "The Aviator" is about Howard Hughes and how he suffered from OCD. It was pretty extreme.
The interesting thing about The Aviator is how the different eras were represented with the film style of that era. It's a really beautiful movie to watch 🙂

I had to scrub my reply because... well... I was just too in-depth.
In short, It looks like the set, prop, costume designers had certainly done their homework.
Scorsese (Scorpio Sun / Pisces Moon) is an excellent director, and DiCaprio (Scorpio Sun / Libra Moon), an excellent actor.
It was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor in a Leading Role for DiCaprio, and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Alda, winning five for Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Costume Design, Best Art Direction and Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Cate Blanchett. This achievement would not be matched for seven years until Martin Scorsese's film Hugo.
