Um, I can't be your bridesmaid?

My Sag friend asked me to be her bridesmaid a few months ago, I said Yes. The thing is, I love her, but she hasn't really been a consistant friend to me.
The wedding is in August, & I'm not sure if I want to commit to an expensive flight (she lives 20 hrs away) to this wedding.

I feel soooooo bad cuz I said yes, but I can't even help with the wedding, never mind spent hundreds of dollers on flights & gifts for a friend that wasn't really there when I needed her.

Advice on how to break the news?

Thanks guys! Man, if I did live there I would, cuz weddings are awesome, & being in it is an honour. Maybe I'll say that to her too. Hopefully she's not too upset, she still has 5 months to replace me.
