my gem mother is giving me a terrible guilt trip headache over it. I've not even met the guy. Yes, it was a nice gesture on his part and it was appreciated, but I'm not feeling like I really don't need to do anything at this point but say thank you and then wish a happy valentines day.

i think a phone call from your lovely self should suffice. if he really likes you, a phone call speaks volumes. especially one where you listen and ask questions.

they probably dont care of Vday too much. some even sabotage their own birthdays.
I got my Scorp a card, it only effing arrived on Friday though and he opened it not knowing what it was. It was a funny-ish type card nothing too in your face or cheesy. I just said look I know work is shit for you at the moment and you have a lot on etc. just thought it would at least make you smile/laugh.
Worked out well though, he was really chuffed and we ended up spending most of the weekend together which was pretty awesome. 🙂
Not expecting anything back from him though. He sent me a text this morning wishing me a happy valentines and that's good enough for me.
Elle I don't think you should feel guilty about not getting anything back. It's great the he wanted to get something for you but that was his choice and I would just politely say thanks.
The only Pisces I have ever dated bought me a diamond bracelet and chanel perfume for Valentines Day once. The only trouble was we'd had 2 dates! I was like WTF.

Valentine's day is a corny capitalistic holiday. I'm always like, "This is bull.". Then when I see all the flower deliveries and candy, I'm like , "What about me?". Damn Valentine's Day got me again lol.

I don't mind not getting anything to be honest. What sucks is when you're going through a hard time romantically whether you're just been dumped/can't find the one/take your pick and you have all this hearts and flowers crap shoved in your face.

Best bet is to simply say "I appreciate that and all the small things you do".....we aren't materialistic we just want to feel assured and appreciated.

You poor bastards. I am single. No cards to send, no poetry to write, no candy to buy. No theobromine poisoning to induce, no awkward social graces in shitty restaurants, no money to waste. I'm going home after classes, gonna cook my steak with eggs, pop open a bottle of wine and watch Family Guy episodes before I start watching some high def movies I've downloaded last night.
good game plan. i will be grabbing a bottle of Champagne and a pizza.
lol, I love Valentines. The ice skating princess I went on a couple of dates with last summer ... but who totally distanced herself the moment I acted "interested" ... lol, she just sent a friend request on FB. Sorry, but that kinda screams "Help, I don't have a date for V-day!!!"
Oh, the fish was conveniently texting over the weekend ... hmmm, I should probably at least wish her a happy V-day.
Anyway, I've decided I'm a bad person and I'm going to stop faking being nice. I'm taking the aquarious to a Hooters for lunch (hoping it won't be a popular place for overcrowded Valentine romance).
Don't know if I told u guys about a Taurus I'm seeing now too. We've only been on a couple of dates, so I'm kinda blowing her off today ... I did at least reply to her text this morning.

Scorp is taking me somewhere. He was my valentine last year too. We drank energy drinks all night and stayed up fucking watching true blood. It was fun! I think valentines day is great EVERYONE is looking for LOVE on this day. The possibilities are endless know what I am sayin? 🙂

actually, when I told him thank you for the chocolate and card...he proceeded to tell me how bitterly cold it was and shitty the weather was when he went to purchase it...LOL Then a few days later he wanted to know if it was any good or if it was the crappy stuff you get at walgreens. He knew very well that it was purchased from a local shop and it was excellent, he just wanted to know if I noticed. Sneaky virgo....LOL
I texted him Happy Valentine's Day when I woke up this morning, so he knows he was a first thought to my mind. He pretended he had forgotten what today is.
