I am just going to apply the logic from DMX's song for my Sag man. Give a dog a bone, leave a dog alone, let a dog roam, and he will find his way home.

From observation, neither.
Sag, while familiar, that can potentially get too familiar for a Sag after some time. The specs in the chart need to be just so, to keep it interesting enough oppose to "comfortable". A Sag will do what's comfortable when they are old and grey and even then....
Gem, well despite popular belief opposites do not attract. Both parties need to be mature, have strong communication skills and in a similar place in life (ready for the same things, even if they don't agree on how exactly to get there) for this to work.
Both make great friends for a Sag. The former a better confidant than the latter, but good social sparing buddies all the same.

We are both in our forties...And I am keeping him. Comfortable or not, he is not going anywhere..
