Mind you I did not meet this woman ...

I didn't want to meet her.

The reality is ..... everything you've said about this woman is second hand information told to you by a disillusioned husband, whose views are greatly jaded.

Looks like I'm the only one with enough common sense to put two and two together.

Common sense failed to tell you that the ensuing injunction

and probation would be public record?

lol. 😛

...and clearly besides reading, math was a total fail for you.

The truth is solid and bullet proof. Find another thread to shoot holes into P before it backfires.

Thanks a lot everyone. I decided to do something people never do anymore. Half page handwritten letter. I told him I ran into his brother and know what's been going on. Told him I still have two good ears for listening and if he needed help with the boys to just say the word, I'm there. Wished him the best and to remain tough. That's it. It will go in the mail tomorrow.

He can do with that what he will, and at the same time I remain neutral. I'm good with that.
Neutral? Maybe. But this was a very personal way to show said neutrality.

Actually, a direct call or stopping to see his mother was the personal & direct route and I thought better of it. A note was the way to go.
It is a neutral way of letting him know if he needs help, I'm here. Nothing more, no response required if he doesn't. He gets a Christmas and Birthday wish every year. He had a birthday last month. He does the same with me. To me that's more personal, but that's more of our 30 + years of friendship.
No big deal here with the note.
