But I can't speak for all Scorps. My father is a really relaxed Scorpio and he just shrugs when my mother raises her voice. My mother is the ultimate boss lady, and she frequently calls me a chauvinist pig. Their marriage is still going strong though.

I see "I take care of you, you take care of me" as being about equals. Equality doesn't mean sameness or twinness, it means each are individuals and both are equally important in regards to the their needs, etc. Basically, equality means both give and take, there is no bottom tier doing all the giving while the other sucks that person dry and tosses them away. The differences are worked with and respected, and ideally there is a blending of one's strengths and weaknesses being other or different than the other persons, so as a unit they are even stronger together than apart.
Sounds like your parents make what they have work, but one person's paradise isn't another person's paradise. I don't like being pushed to the kind of frustration that makes me raise my voice but I also hate being yelled at and will give as good as I take. ~aries mars won't back down from a fight~

Just an intuitive observation, but maybe you growing up seeing your mom sort of hen peck your dad has geared you into thinking you won't allow that to happen to you in a relationship and therefore seeking a more dom role with a more sub partner (not referencing true bdsm).

I agree with you. I'm positive that it influenced me. I am genuinely attracted to a more submissive woman though. I don't think that deep kind of attraction comes from learned behavior. It's just who I am. So maybe it's a little bit of both.
Overall, it really isn't bad. My father just has a very high tolerance, but when he gets angry my mother quickly calms down and shuts up. He has his Moon in Aries. She's a Capricorn. They work well together.

It probably is a mix of both. That's funny that your mom is a cap. I know a scorp/cap couple and she's pure bitch on wheels, but he just hunkers down and takes it. I have too much pride and self worth to choose to put up with that for the rest of my life.

Aquarians arn't bossy, we just have a certain tolerance level and that's it. Everything before this line is negotiable, if you want to push my boundary, you better have a damn good argument that goes beyond, "I want".

I had a reversal of this. I'm a Scorpio girl and I feel like a cancer girl with a Scorpio man might work better. He will like to be in control and you (assuming) will not mind giving him that control.
My issue was that my. Cancer was a little too meek for me. He was not very masculine, and I'm not saying you have to be the epitome of male in perfect form, but he let me decide EVERYTHING, and I always had to defend us both.
He also flaked on his goals a lot- something a driven, passionate Scorp cannot wrap their heads around. Lack of ambition is a big no for me.
But there are some great things among the bad I adored about him that I will always appreciate, and that was his ability to be so selfless (to a fault) and oh so sweet. The sweetest person I've ever known.
So a cancer female and Scorpio male may work better. Wish u well 🙂
