"could someone enlighten me as to the real feeling in the US about this man?"
Fear .. hopelessness.
I know if I were the enemy, and seeing that me (the enemy) had spent the last 8 years, creating plans/diversions to prompt the US to spend theirselves broke (supporting Iraq & oil) .. flat fucking broke .. I would be delighted as hell that the US just put whatever eggs of hope they had into idolizing a person. If I were the enemy, I'd take advantage of that to destroy whatever faith the Americans had left.
I doubt very seriously that Bin Laden is a fool, and it would be the most foolish move he could do in his terror to ignore this opportunity of crushing whatever hope we had left to save us. And, in his position, I certainly would do it quickly, rather than waiting until Obama pulled troops, and got the dollars back into the country .. seeing that money is what makes the US powerful, it would be a cunningly strategic move to put a stake in the heart of this very hope to rescue us BEFORE our economy could be rescued by bringing our dollars home and cut spending.
The plan has been for 8 years, creating diversions in the middle east, knowing we are humanitarians, to get us to spend ourselves broke. It's doubtful that they created this situation to then become ignorant. We have been reduced to being desperate for someone to save us, because Frankly without our money, we're pretty weak .... so, the next prudent move to bring us down should be to rob us of this very saviour.
Creating despair.
So far, we haven't felt this yet. We're suffering financial, to be sure, but, we've been looking forward to a new administration, and putting so disdain in Bush, while hope in a new President ... and this has been a shining light at the end of the tunnel.
Well, if I were Him, I would cave in the end of the tunnel. Leave Americans stranded ... broke with a fallen leader with intentions of having them scattered/divided/lost.
Interesting thread. Where are all these theories of stolen elections and the mysterious ?they- the powers that be?, getting generated and why do they get traction? You all need to read all points of view and vet your information sources, then use you own gut and intellect to draw a conclusion.
I do not believe the last two elections were stolen, nor do I believe there is a group pulling the strings of the world. I guess you would need to believe in the Illuminati and a lot of books based on fiction. I see no evidence of any of these things, sorry.
Obama is a charismatic speaker and he inspires. I still did not vote for him though. I wanted to because I wanted to believe he could be the next JFK, but I simply felt I did not have enough information to make an informed decision. The media is a disgrace in this country, there is no objectivity and they did not do any due diligence on Obama. They spent more time investigating ?Joe the plumber? than they did Obama.
The will of the people (no not the Illuminati) has been manifest. I hope he does well and he is my President and I will give him my support and take a wait and see approach.
For eight years we had a cowboy and someone who could not put coherent sentences together. Obama is a breath of fresh air to those who want someone erudite and who will mend fences with our allies. I think you will see the US be more diplomatic and seek advice and counsel with our allies. Less unilateral action, but not loathe to go that route if we must. Restraint and thought before we rush into things, that's what I see in the future. While I would like the world to like America, I don't think we should bend over and subvert our own interests just to appease others. The sight of people around the world in celebration because Obama has won, is nice, but he is an American President, elected by the American people. He will do what is right for America, hopefully in a non-bullying and diplomatic way. If he does not, you can expect a new face in four years.
I can't even believe that we are still arguing about the FACT that the last two elections WERE stolen. The evidence is obvious and everywhere.
So, it is a fact? Where is this evidence? It is neither everywhere nor obvious. If this were fact, the media which is clearly biased, would have rooted it out. Are you suggesting that the Supreme Court rigged the outcome!?
I think it was a case of "The Lesser Of Two Evils" I mean, what was the other option? Sarah Palin - God help us all !! A politician is a politician no matter what colour or gender, theyre a different breed to the man on the street.
Still, Im very happy that we've seen history being made and I hope Obama keeps the US where it should be - A Great Nation With A Great People :-) As an Englishman, I Love "Merkins"
I didnt feel like posting either, i just felt like the silly limiting (no such thing as change) bull shit negative jaded cynicism ideas are sickening to me and only adding to what made our country fall in the first fuckin place. If you dont even believe his change speech... understand we need change no matter what. Our country and the world for that matter is in a poor condition no m atter your view on obama, there needs to be a change regardless you cant deny that!
Those nonsense responses arent even worth a counter argument.
Just take a second and forget your political views (yes its important what he does we all ready know this) and just be grateful that our country can still hold the statement "...Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth." holds true. Our country wants to help, people want to help... and we all want to have a voice. And by the way the poles went with young and old and people who voted for the first time intheir entires lifes is testiment to that.
From when you were in elementry through all of history spoon fed this line but deep down thought was faulty. The statue of liberty "Give me your tired, your poor,Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" seems now in reach in a way. Our land in the united states now seems UNITED, our open arms and land of opportunity isnt just a spoon fed speech in our history books... its possible, and we saw that in this recent election.
Everyone who says cant or the double standards isnt an empty promise, its possible. Americas opportunities are possible, our divisons weve made through race, or gender or even your division from the rest of the world is now even in its smallest measure, united you cant deny that.
THE WORLD is looking at America now with a more optimistic view. Just this alone can bring a positive change thats undeniable. Were not hated by the world, they look at our country and SEE our possiblities see our possibilites. And are disappointed with how weve carried ourselves for the past few years. And they can tell that shits gonna change.
*hugs Ashley while falling on the ground*
You know, I knew there was a reason I liked you 🙂 We have the same spirit. Maybe not the same personality, but the same spiirt and thats all that matters right now 🙂
I just hope Sylvia Browne's prediction isn't true about Obama dying of a heart attack.
She did predict the next president would be black. That was like 6 years ago. I remember watching the show. No one knew who the hell Obama was at the time.
