i've done a thread on this before cos i think it's a scorp speciality. this time, i want to know if you tend to bury your head in the sand when it comes to your health?

Scorps bury their head in the sand when it comes to every/any thing that isn't desired ... health is no different.

to be a little more specific, i had a really bad 2011. it just seemed that the whole year was like wave upon wave of bad shit...workwise, emotionally, physically, every level it seemed. i'm really responsive to stress but at the same time, i'm a single mum and so i keep everything in check in front of my kids...well to everyone really. consequently, everything gets internalised.

as my health deteriorated towards the end of the year, i realised i was attributing my 'symptoms' to the wrong source. first i thought it was cos i had a business idea stolen...then cos i had a four month long cockroach infestation at my house...then cos i had a brief encounter with someone who wasn't available...then my son going back to live in the uk.

in my mind, there was always a 'reason' why i was losing weight, why my hair was falling out, why i just wanted to sleep the whole time. it was obvious to me why i felt that way cos i had already attached a 'reason' to it.

so for over 6 months, i've ignored my symptoms.

i know i'm in denial cos it's a place i regularly visit but particularly when it comes to my health as i had breast cancer and i was in denial central for the 3 years prior to that diagnosis.

the problem is that now i've stepped outside myself to see that actually there might be something wrong, i just wanna slide back into my comfort zone of denial. course, i've got kids and so i won't do that but just wondered if anyone else was as wishy washy in facing up to things.

oh my god. this is everything my Scorpio does. It's painful to see him visibly pretend like there isn't a pink elephant in the room.

Recently I FINALLY dragged him to his first dental appointment.. after his tooth became infected and ruptured then turned black.

And I can't make him feel bad for gaining weight - but he insists it's only 15 pounds. Eating is a sore subject for the both of us for opposite reasons, but he'll have diabetes within years if he keeps it up :/

toothache has got to be one of the most insanely painful things! i can't bear the thought of dentists but i hate the thought of an absyss more and so i go more often than i probably need to.

one of my schoolfriends went on to become a dentist. his father had been our family dentist before him. i swear they are only capable of understanding you if you're trying to talk with your mouth being held open cos i used to get on the chair, open my mouth at his request and then he'd say....so, how are the kids? i mean what are you sposed to do when you've got one of those metal pointy things probing your teeth!!! lol.
