Scorpios are good people and I agree that they take things slow. They need trust you in order for them to open up. Once they do, you get to see the best side of them. I am learning a lot from him, btw. Even if we don’t end up together (I have faith we will) I am happy he’s in my life.
I think getting to know someone as a friend will lead to the best romance of your life afterwards. Jumping into bed or starting a relationship right away will only lead to heartache (talking from experience).
