I feel my bronchial tubes all clogged up but she hasn't gotten it because I am clean and I haven't even been breathing on her.
I miss kissing her fat face though.
My Cancer cousin is so sweet. Good with the kids and my daughter but I don't like the fact that she kisses her on the face. I'm gonna have to talk to her about it.
Her 1 year old is always sick with the same cough and she just got over a bad cold.
People should know they shouldn't kiss babies when they are sick or even touch the baby's stuff without sanitizing their hands first. Especially a 3 month old.
Luckily my daughter didn't get to sick because they would not give her medicine unless she is older than 6 months.
If her symptoms don't subside, the pediatrician may prescribe something called a Nebulizer. It's basically a breathing mask you place over her face, and she inhales vaporized liquid medicine. But thats probably not used on infants. Just an FYI. Its a tough situation to endure, but one that I'm well skilled in using for my little girl.
When our kids are ill, dont we just wanna reach inside of them, pull it out, and put it into ourselves so they dont suffer? Parenthood, paternal or maternal, the feelings are universal.
mystic: when my eldest son was ill as a baby for the first time, i was beyond hysterical. he only had a blocked nose for god's sake but it became a life or death incident and the emergency services were called.
don't listen to other people when they suggest various remedies. a baby has a stronger constitution than people realise (how else do they survive even briefly in 3rd world countries?) and the western world creates such a sterile environment for babies that they haven't got a hope in hell of developing their own immune system.
i stopped sterilising everything for my babies very early on and they are both rarely ill (now aged 9 and 13). in fact, the best thing to do with a baby is to let it lick the kitchen floor clean and then they will develop immunity to most everyday things LOL!!!
i can't stand people who pander to illnesses and rush to the paediatrician at the drop of a hat - it keeps sick children sick and the paediatrician in luxury living.
believe me - i know what i'm talking about for once 🙂
what also galls me is the way some mothers make you feel bad cos you don't rush to ER everytime your kid sneezes. everyone has to find their own way i suppose but it's always worth listening to the advice of mothers with healthy children imo.
when my son was at school in england, i had to pop into the school office to get some paperwork and there was a huge cabinet that the school secretary was putting stuff into. i asked what it was and it was a medical supply cabinet for all the children who required various lotions and potions on hand during the school day. ridiculous.
similarly, this ADHD nonsense!! kids are being kids and are also being fed the wrong diets which seems to result in many of them becoming dependent on drugs like ritalin from an early age when they are diagnosed with attention deficit disorder.
some mothers seem to enjoy their children having alphabet illnesses and blame their bad behaviour on these 'conditions'. it strikes me as a kind of munchausen's by proxy issue and a case of who has the sickest child.
Roxanne, most babies I know actually eat off the floor - especially the toddlers, they just turn the food on the table or floor and pick at it...lol.
Alot of people have a bad habit of kissing babies faces too much, thats how they get sick. totally agree - one of my friends told all of us to stop it - lol
bathing all the time could harm your skin Cappy, I hear it's something to do with loss of natural body oil and exfoliation - so skin gets drier and no time to replenish itself or summat...*shrugs*

makes sense - I got ADHD when I moved out from home and started eating crap - wow 😛
in the UK, there has been recent uproar about the introduction of a vaccine to protect against cervical cancer for 14 year old girls. why is it that on the one hand, they feed their kids crap and routinely have them diagnosed with disorders and then on the other, refuse a perfectly decent vaccination on MORAL grounds— they seem to think the vaccine will increase promiscuity but england has the highest rate of teenage pregnancies probably in the world already and they've only just introduced this.
i'm having my daughter vaccinated at the earliest opportunity cos she is in a high risk category and i don't want her to contract the virus that causes cervical cancer - plain and simple.
don't parents use their common sense any more—??
i think everyone should take a basic exam in parenting, particularly health issues, before they are let loose to start breeding. some people have to fight infertility to even get as far as having a baby and yet others are so dismissive of their responsibilities it's untrue.
these are among the reasons that i chose to bring my kids up in spain which is a country in which family is central to it's culture. children are cherished, protected and respected here and not turned into accessories as they are in england.
But it's leaving now.
I have an awful cold.
