What you describe sounds more like a general theme of playing around with women, se. relationships etc. but that's a general thing a lot of people do and not limited to Scorps.
In my experience they put a lot of effort and energy into you, and often more than they immediately get back once they have decided for themselves that you are good for them in some way.
The only real issue I can think of is the occasional control thingy and that they can be too easily hurt or triggered at times but as long as the other party involved remains relatively calm and doesn't take the drama bait things calm down relatively fast again.

And then he told me he was depressed when we got into our first disagreement. I was shocked to hear that. But I couldn’t solve his depression. He has to do it for himself.
you know, I was going to say maybe you attracted him for a reason. The fact that another came your way might mean there's something you'll get out of it by helping him some how, whether directly or indirectly. I prefer the indirectly approach. The Universe talks to us in mysterious ways, we just have to listen and be willing to participate. And we become better because of it too! Just be the light he needs. Doesn't take much to help. Just focus on his good qualities and treat him how he should be treated...that alone has healed depression in my experience.

Let’s imagine he is depress for the sake of the argument. I don’t want to be the one to take him out of there. He needs to do it himself. I don’t want to be the one to do anything for him that he should be doing for himself. It’s not sustainable and it’s not strong enough. My previous ex scorpio boyfriend form a long time ago is relying heavily on his mom and now current wife. But he still complains how life is hard, how he can’t find himself and how sad everything is. People say loyal but if he has other women on the side than that’s not loyalty. Multiple baby mamas etc. Than that’s not loyalty m. If he makes life moves without you that’s not loyalty. I’m sure that they can be loyal but not to everyone. All of the traits that you said are probably correct, I’ve noticed some of them but I’m not so sure of faithfulness and loyalty. At least not in action but rather in theory. And idk of those traits are good enough for me. I've been really depressed, like almost catatonic, and t's hard for me to imagine being so depressed I didn't brush my teeth but I could still have enough energy to go on a date. That said, not everyone is like me.
