Scorpios, can you do friends with benefits?

So I don't know how the rest of the Scorpio population feels about this, but I for one can't even if I wanted to. Like I would love to actually TRY this but a little voice in back my head says, "maybe this isn't such a good idea."

I've never even tried and I've only had two sexual relationships in my life and they were serious relationships.

I work with this girl who does it all the time. She is happy and single and doesn't like being in relationships but has no problem sleeping with her friends lol.

What about you? Have you tried it and can you bring yourself to do it?

Feel free to comment even if you're not a Scorp- just wondering how they feel about it as a whole.

Yes, takes me a while too! I hold out for a bit and actually remained a virgin until 20 ....by choice of course! I was engaged to my first but he screwed that up ! LOL

I actually just had a nurse at the hospital give me her number to see if I was down. Shes a gorgeous older woman too... I know that I could physically, but im such a corny person I like to be open and intimate with people I love and trust. So it's really self imposed "guidelines" so I don't become a ho lol I never wanted to be someone who couldn't hold down a relationship but could sleep around. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I just didnt want to be that person. I have a lustful addictive personality so I try to stay away from things that go no where. NO SHAME in being hopeless romantic! LOL I myself have a pretty "lustful" personality too, but I keep all that stuff at bay unless it's someone who I can emotionally connect with. Which in my life have only been two people and one I was engaged to. Soo..yes, I don't let my desires rule my actions.

People say we are too picky...maybe I am but my relationships have lasted a lot longer because I don't mess around with flakes! As for that whole family stuff, I still believe in all that- I'm super old fashioned. However, that's not my main focus. Me first, boyfriend BONUS. =) Husband-Double Bonus, haha. Although sleeping around is a tempting thought, I realize that it's probably not going to be great if I don't have that emotional bond...as absurd as that's sounds to some people. It would be too difficult for me.

I'm still a virgin, and never used any hard drugs even though my family were heavy heroin and coke users so I really can keep myself disciplined and focused on my future. My only vice is good food lmao Yeah if theres emotional bond, I just can't... can't do it. friends with benefits is not actuallt sleeping around if you made an agreement with that one person to hook up with on a regular basis. It;s kind of like a relationship with no strings but you are still only sleeping with 1 person. Someone who is sleeping around is promiscous and is not considered fwb it's called being a h*e lol.

anyway I have done it before with a guy for 2 1/2 years it ended awfully, we liked eachother more of course but the timing was always wrong so we just ended the romance (intimacy) part. I became fwb after a 3 year relationship a capricorn really broke my heart and it took me a long time to recover. Guess I did it as a recovery from relationships but it stung me in the end. If you are willing to try don't do it with someone who wanted to date you it will leave a big mess and mix messages in the end. You must only look at the guy as a friend and him the same. But there is a good chance one of you will fall for eachother it is just natural. I have now been single for 2 years and decided to restore my virtue. No sex what so ever without a emotional bond and commitment. I have rised to the phoneix stage of the scorp so i have been heavily intuned with the divine and my spiritual side. Scorpios always long for a lifetime partner we can not do casual so don't even deny in your head that you could.

If you wish to do it prepare for the consequences and we do take a long time to recover it's been a year and my heart is still grieveing from the fwb situation + the cap that broke my heart. *OUCH*

I think not having the emotional bond and commitment just takes the beauty away from intimacy with that person. I mean, that is just the way I have always seen it. I've been asked...yes, just asked by guys if I would like to have sex no strings attached, and I decline because I can't bring myself to enjoy that with someone I don't even care about. At least with knowing you care so deeply about that person, intimacy can be amazing- on a whole new depth. And we Scorpios....we love that mind, body, and soul connection as you already know. It's not just his moon - he has Scorp Venus and Aqua Mars.

I've got a really close friend, Scorp sun/Leo Moon/Venus Sagg/Mars Libra/Merc Scorpio - who used to do the whole FWB thing in between relationships. She relished the experience (she started really young, like 16 or so), but started to mellow down when she hit 23 (she's 28 now).

Make sense. My Venus is Libra and Mars in Scorpio. I don't know what those are supposed to entail or what comes with that package, but yes lol.

There was one point in my life where I became angry with women in general. At that point there was no more emotion in me and I started having frivolous sex. It got to the point where I was so disgusted with myself and who I was becoming I attempted to kill myself. I failed, obviously, and it was at that lowest point I found out who I am and what I wanted to be. Since that time, I cannot do FWB at all. I need an emotional attachment or it means nothing to me. If I care about my friend I would not want her experiencing that either. It should be about love, not lust.

The problem is language.

"Fuck buddies" "friends with benefits" => both terms imply that underneath the sex part there is also a friendship going on. this leaves room for at least one party of the agreement to think "well we have awesome sex and we are friends..this is basically a relationship. maybe not there yet though". I'm convinced it's that mindset that makes the majority of people engaging in fwb to angle for a relationship down the road. There will be exceptions but I think the crux of the issue lies there.

The only honest (maybe harsh/brutal) term is "hooking up".

For me it worked with one Aqua dude because I despised everything he stood for. He was not my friend, he was only a person I was strongly sexually atracted to. No drama between us. No one had feelings hurt. We were a complete mismatch in every other area of our personalities.

But with a guy I have more than just sexual chemistry with? Not taking that chance.

i know what you're saying but it's the only honest way to approach it from a purely sexual stance alone.

the way i look at it..people are variables so everything can and will go sideways. which is why agreements like the type in this topic should be as explicitly stated as possible. then you only have the human factor of it, and every party has a responsibility to themselves. they can't say there was any deceit at play.

I really liked this Scorpio guy and he said he liked me but didnt want anything serious after we'd already slept together. I could tell he just wanted a "FWB" situation so i said i'm moving on and deserve better but id like to still remain friends and surprisingly we did remain friends but i feel like he is being a little nicer than usual and still keeps trying to see me but i reject him.
