Have you seen it? How far did you get? Thoughts?

I did.
Still sucks. Her french team carry the show.
Not representative of my country at all.

My Taurus samba dance partner/teacher was so excited about it, saying it reminded him of me (bc I part-time live in Paris and am in marketing/events) and that I had to watch it.
Boooooooy, was I ever insulted 😑🥴… this show is just WAY too cheesy and unrealistic.
No way a girl that young and in her position able to afford that crazy over-the-top wardrobe!! And I hate how they make her look like a dumb American…. Lacking any understanding of other cultures, her loudness and inability to speak other languages - I can’t relate to any of that.
And… it’s SO CLICHÉ 🙄🤢🤮. Everyone’s role is just an exaggeration.
I’ll give him a pass since he is Brazilian and never been to Paris. He was idealizing it all and living vicariously through me/the show.

I binged through this very quickly last week. This is a cutesy, light show to follow watching something like Handmaids Tale or This is Us. I liked it for that purpose, will definitely watch later seasons.
Sometimes I like to just watch something easy on my lunch break.
I was jealous by the unrealistic representation of how easy it was for her to make just make best friends left and right.
I don’t think this show was something to take seriously or examine under a magnifying glass, so I just took it as face value and was entertained. This isn’t a show that’s trying to convince you of Parisienne culture or be serious in anyway.

I think it's supposed to be fun and cheesy, but definitely not insulting of French culture. I enjoyed it myself including the exaggerations and stereotypes indicated throughout the show but definitely could see why people would be offended by it.click to expand

Same. Fun and cheesy are the right words. I don’t think it was created to be taken too serious or literal
I think it's suppose to be a bit satire-ish even, over the top and extreme.

Oh I forgot...
Nobody in France speak english fluently. The youth are now good at learning foreign languages, but NO ONE speak english fluently. When I was at school I can tell you everybody was bad. English class back then was a way for students to take a break and have fun in class, nobody would listen, pupils would reply back at the teacher, noot giving a fuck about the class.
Besides, french are shy when it comes to speak another language, because we're ashamed of our ugly accent so we didn't like being picked at school to speak it in front of the whole class.

French accent to English sounds better than any other accent honestly, way better than say India or Mother Russia. I can't imagine how English to French sounds to the French with all the mispronounced 'oohs' and 'ets'
Sorry for all the typos in my previous post I was in a rush lol.
Our accent when we speak english is terrible. We all agree that the Brit one is the hottest.click to expand

Americans like the French accent, sounds sexy and sophisticated. Brit people are ugly af though (too many similar genes from living on an island). Places that are crossroads or are melting pots have the best looking people imo as they've often a multitude of the best characteristics. Islands and places where they've had too much Nationalism (Slavs, Balkans) all the people look the same.
Okay but Americans aren't the center of the world, their opinion isn't a fact 🙄. I don't like their accent, they have no class no style .
Don't call them ugly when Emma Watson exists.
As for us, we just don't like speaking english, like I said French people are shy so we purposely speak it with a strong accent. Also those who try to speak it are categorized as pretentious.click to expand

Pretentious?? Really? That's weird... Should be appreciated for trying to speak English imo...
The only good stuff I'm getting out of having watched Emily in Paris is improving my French with Duolingo and making it a goal to save up enough money to travel to Paris by this fall ☺️
Yeah...speaking another language is considered as bragging here... 😕
I wish you a nice trip then ! 😄click to expand
