Awkward

Every year for Thanksgiving my parents drive down to Arizona to celebrate with my American grandma. My bf and I decided that since we are spending Christmas with his family, we’d fly up to Arizona for Thanksgiving and surprise my family.

I did a good job playing it cool: I told my mom my boyfriend has a work trip and won’t be back until Friday, I had my sister do some digging to figure out where my parents will stay and what day they get there. All the while my bf and I booked our tickets, hotel, and rental car.

Apparently my sister talked to my parents this weekend and it turns out a big snow storm rolled into town this week, so my parents ultimately cancelled their trip to AZ.

At least I’ll get to see my grandma, but I really wanted to see the happiness/surprise on my parents faces had they not cancelled. I love when they are excited about me 💔
