Posted by wagtailThanks for that. I do need some signature pieces. These were really good tips! I do try to buy good makeup. I think it is probably the one thing i spend the most on.
I think the trade off with becoming a little more mature and of course getting to know yourself better over time, is that trends etc fall by the wayside for different reasons.
My tip would be- buy a couple of good GOOD statement pieces.
Things that are effortlessly cool through ANY fashion season.
A really good leather jacket with minimal detail.
Basic but high heeled leather boots.
A one off designer bag, if your budget is tight.
Same with makeup, find a shade of lipstick that works for you in any weather with or without contouring or heaps of foundation etc and then always buy it in the BEST brand you can afford.
Or mascara, or concealer etc etc what ever your priority day to day look is.
And of course, just invest in a keeping in shape, getting a hair cut, or a facial so that even if you're wearing ten day old jeans, a torn rock tee and a hoody on your milk run in the morning, your skin glows, your eyes are clear and sparkly and people won't give a shit about your wardrobe 🙂

Posted by andstrollbotLike I am 26 old. It seems like a young enough number... but it is defs kind of around the time females start getting out of touch. Or you notice what looks good on an 18 year old doesnt really look good on you.
How old? Like female newscaster old?

Posted by wagtailYesh! I can tell by your avi you practice it well 🙂
Haha HELL Yesh wear what you like. Poise and being comfortable in your own skin is a trend that never goes out of style 😆

Posted by pinkbird03Idk if I have kohls where I am. But yeah. I go to cheap stores that have cheap new clothes. Like H&M and forever 21. Theyre good for the pocket but usually not good quality 😢
shop at stores that constantly get new clothes. I actually like kolhs a lot, they have Lauren Conrad, Jennifer Lopez, and Apt. 9 clothes. These usually have in style pretty/comfortable clothes at affordable prices!

Posted by lisabethur8I do buy cheap clothes because i feel style s change so frequently. But like wagtail said, a few good expensive staple items are timeless. I will try doing the timeless look. You can't go wrong! Those videos gave me some good ideas. I like the color blocking idea
I don't keep up with the times so I just wear whatever is at the stores, and what they offer.
they have Italian and French small vintage stores here, so sometimes the owner of the boutique makes her own clothing line.
but whatever fashion you can muster sometimes you want to go 70s go for it.
this is a good video for some tips.

Well you're obviously making an effort so I say start wearing what you've always dreamed of wearing.click to expand

Posted by andstrollbotIt is a nice store. Its like a big giant Winner's but all clothes and no kitchenware... and super mass produced. You buy a cool shirt and think you're all unique and then see like five girls on the train to work in the same shirt.Posted by clippityclopProbably. My sister shopped there when she was 12.Posted by andstrollbotPosted by clippityclopAh too young to be a female newscaster too old for forever21!Posted by andstrollbotLike I am 26 old. I don't follow trends blindly. If they suit me and show off my bod, I might. But I hate following the crowd and being a wallflower.
There are certain pieces I consider a must in a gal's wardrobe. For starters
1.A sexy LBD! Nothing beats it.
2. A formal skirt and an informal skirt- length and the way they accentuate the body matters a lot. I have skirts more than jeans. And more dresses than skirts.
3. Few girly tops and blouses that you can team up with a formal skirt or a pair of denims.
4. Few great tees. A good white one to pair with a faded jeans and a great pair of stilettos, lip gloss and a bit tossed up hair is enough I guess to look sexy AF!
5. A great pair of denims that fits beautifully.
6.Shoes/stilettos/wedges/flat sandals
7. I can't believe I forgot to mention few short dresses - atleast one that has tiny floral prints for a cute coffee date-duh!
8. A formal jacket and a denim jacket.
9. A clutch and a designer bag
10. A great lipstick/gloss and glowing skin and just got out of bed a but tossed up hair!
Few things I'm addicted to are lip gloss, moisturisers, ear rings (I'm crazy about them from hoops to danglers and some formal wear) and few trinkets.
So I would start off with these basic things and add items to the wardrobe. This is how I started when I was 19. Few things are cherished and I wear them even now...

Posted by MIIeFiskYeah its good to have a flip through some fash mags once in a while.
I think I'm a size XXL in Forever21. In- style magazine is usually good for ideas and they emphasize on how to mix and match essentials to keep looks fresh and different.

Posted by andstrollbotI love h&m. Theyre actually getting a little pricier i noticed lately. I went in and tried on a bunch of clothes. Usually price tags in there dont matter much to me. But i looked and was like whaaaat. Fifty dollars for a top?Posted by clippityclopI never really minded dressing the same as other people lolPosted by andstrollbotIt is a nice store. As I get older I find it harder to keep up with trends. I know I am not a hideous specimen, but I feel as though I am struggling. Whatre your tips and tricks?
