Considering our nation has a history of civil right protests, and considering the state our nation is in today, I’m not optimistic these protests/riots will have the results we’ve been seeking since the birth of our nation.

I think the way police are trained is wrong. I think systemic racism is wrong. I think racism in general is wrong. But I think there’s people/corporations above the government paying the government to oppress minorities.

I also think Russia and/or China has a stronger hold over our society than the government does. I remember reading somewhere that back in 2016 Russians actually organized a majority of the pro-Trump rallies.

After hearing about “precinct 3” I can’t help but wonder if Russia or China paid the police departments in MN to kick start the fucked up shit that’s been going on this past week. Foreign nations want to see us divided; what better way than to start a race war?

Tl;dr: Our government (including police) is heavily influenced by money more than it is influenced by we the people, so our protests mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. Agree or disagree? Like do y’all really see these riots ending systemic racism? Or changing the way future police officers are screened and then trained?

picketing, march/demonstration, etc. are just one aspect of protest...it can raise social awareness on a massive scale, recruit new activists, create solidarity between typically disparate groups, etc....other aspects of protest like organized boycotts and strikes can have a more direct financial impact...

It won't change until people stop voting in those that favor corporate power over the interests of the citizenry. When you have a system that concentrates all the wealth and power in the hands of a few, their profit is prioritized over things such as healthcare and racial justice. Both the police and especially the military protect the interests of the state not necessarily you and I. Enough people are starting to wake up and see that a 2 party system where both parties operate using the same methods and benefit similarly isn't the answer. I'm closely watching Biden to see if there will be any actual change or if they pay lip service (like Obama did) and just entrench.

We need a legit week of no Amazon orders. Unless that’s the only source for people.

Jeff Bezos is one of the reasons there’s such a gap between the upper class and lower class. Banks literally have to borrow money to keep his bank account balance at $ 1 trillion.

Other multi-millionaire CEO’s also need to be shamed. Gtfo asking for corporate bailouts just so they can get big bonuses at the end of the year. How is $ 2mil going to substantially affect their lives when they make $ 20mil+ a year?

It’s more than that. We need to stop voting rights be taken for non violent felanies, redistricting, voter registration purged and start voting by mail.

Oh yeah, voter suppression is a part of it as the things that the majority of people want (healthcare, environmental action, infrastructure etc.) are often not even on the table.

It's hard for me to imagine everyone really coming together and getting on the same page long enough to enact any real change. Too much division and hatred, misinformation, confusion. And that's all part of the divide and conquer agenda of the ruling class of course. I'm pretty pessimistic about it all tbh and think things are going to get way worse before they (maybe eventually) get better. The solutions might be more extreme than people are willing to sacrifice. That's all I'm saying lol

Yes, I agree 100% . And I feel the protests and even just incidents of POC being unjustly murdered by white people push conservatives farther into their delusional “us against them” mentality. Like every incident makes them support Donald Trump even more. Conservativism is literally a cult.

So it's going to change, but probably not the way we'd all hope. I mean, this is a whole fucking agenda. From agenda 21 to agenda 2030. One World Government. After Covid, comes race. After race, comes civil unrest. After civil unrest, comes martial law. The real martial law. None of that bullshit we've experienced in the past. I'm talking revelation martial law. Mandatory curfew. Prison reform turned into concentration camps. You can go to work as long as it's for the government entity. If you believe in anything besides the government, you get killed execution style . Now if we're lucky, we may start a revolution. I don't think we're going to get the chance to experience a civil war due to the military power already in place. Ain't nothing civil about that.

Of course that's all if the race bating and the empowered military police force keep provoking violent protests by murdering innocent black civilians or any civilian for that matter. It will provoke a formidable social cataclysm. And if race doesn't do it, they'll bookmark it, and move on to the next sinister step which would probably be scientific or another war. Another disease. EMP. Or a stronger strain of Covid-19. Maybe mix a little Ebola in there to get that going. Shut the economy down again. Kill another unarmed black man or woman.

Unfortunately, Donald Grump is not the creator of any of that. He's reactionary and instead of listening to Alex Jones, like the dumb ass he is, he'll enforce the Military if he feels he's losing power. So in that sense, he helped this process along. Whether he really means it or not, he's playing with powers darker than he can comprehend or control himself. Nonetheless, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't at this point. The powers that be will benefit from his mistakes. But then again if he gets reelected again, it'll probably just create some more civil unrest. That's if this particular instance doesn't make the witches cauldron tip over... completely.

Canibus gets it...

TRUMP FOR 2020.

He was in his bunker last night pissing his diaper.

Yeah and today he was back into the oval office. Protection of the President is of utmost priority.

I hope they come out every night so he can stay the fuck out of office.

Not like he really works anyway.

Ship him to fucking Mar A Lago.

IT MEANS RECOGNIZING THAT BLACK LIVES MATTER. CAN YOU SAY THAT. BLACK LIVES MATTER.

I hate when people reply with “All lives matter”. Did I say the other colors don’t matter? Can you (not you specifically CC) not agree that black lives are important?

Then there’s the retards spewing “Blue lives matter” 🤦🏻‍♀️ When have police officers ever been oppressed? When has the DOJ ever had to be involved in the murder of a cop? 🙄🙄

I'm sure of it, like 100% . For example, it's just a matter of time (could be a week from now, 20 years, nobody knows for sure... and the officials are instructed to give astronomical numbers - like thousands of years - while trying to avoid unnecessary panic) - till the Super-Volcano from Yellowstone will erupt....

lmao! how did I know you'd be too afraid to give the name of the country you claim to be so proud of? that's amusing, but really there's no reason for it....I'm not the type to denounce someone based on where they live. I'm neither proud nor ashamed to live in the US. Since I didn't have a say in being born here, and haven't really done all that much to make it what it is, I'm not sure why I would be. It is what it is; there's good and there's bad. Those kind of comments only bother people with a sense of national pride which I've never had....

@metatron your inherent bias is showing. You hate that America is hypocritical and the world sees it for what it is.

I don't see entire countries as having personal attributes like "hypocritical" and I see every individual as being a hypocrite to varying degrees, so this is way off. I don't think naturally along collectivist lines at all, so that's a huge disconnect betw. me and anyone that does. For instance, if everyone in the country was doing X, yet I was not doing X, I wouldn't feel personally accountable or take offense to critiques of the nation for doing X. I think, if anything, an individual person can easily fall into hypocrisy by criticizing a country as a whole, for personal attributes possessed by a high percentage of members of their own country in recent history, so I do like to look out for that just for the sake of coherence....I also think everyone has inherent bias, but I'm not sure how mine is showing. Enlighten me.

In 20 years when the boomers and silent gen are dead.

Riots and protests have a history of passing legislation.

Ie. Martin Luther King, Jr death riots led to passing of Civil Rights Act of 68 within a few weeks I think.

There are other examples.

The key is to both show up at the protest and show up by calling and donating to candidates that promote change and as just running for office yourself.

If you have one without the other then it will fail which is what has been happening for the past 20 years of political paralysis.

And what did those civil rights acts do for people of color? If they were so effective, would we be where we are today?

The problem in the U.S. is, a couple of bad cops in Minneapolis triggered all the animals that have been generated by the total degradation of the family structure in the black culture of the present day.

This will never change, sadly.

I see it as discrediting America's history of violence towards minorities. For instance, the argument Arabs had slaves, when we discuss American Slavery.

This is a way to discredit America's horrific past.

I think it depends on whether or not the person is attempting to normalize the behavior with that comparison. If on the other hand someone's implying that there's something uniquely or inherently evil about people that have certain social problems. yet their own country only recently resolved them, or is going through the same, I see that as hypocritical. That doesn't imply anything about the legitimacy of the actual behavior IMO.

But I do see where you're coming from, and have heard the "Africa had slaves" or "Almost every nation had slavery at some point..." come up, and be used in that way, particularly wrt ancient practices of slavery. I think its off-base for many reasons, not least of which is that modern chattel slavery was much more brutal and disenfranchising than slavery in ancient Rome for instance.

one area where I think you can predict positive change along racial lines is in the continued legalization and decriminalization of marijuana...black/white usage is roughly the same but black people are almost 4 x's as likely to be arrested for possession....I'm not sure that eliminates the underlying issue of systemic racial bias (namely that POC disproportionately experience traffic and street stops by police), but it at least will alleviate some of the consequences....Illinois' recent legalization also included provisions around clearing past offenses (possession of an ounce or less) that affected 800k people....

It definitely will not change if the people who must change it (us) don't believe we can.

But first you have to know where to start which most people continue to bump their heads at. Even violence and war is meaningless without an indefinite target or goal.

The target is to dismantle systems that are pro white pro rich pro corporation edit: and pro man and pro non taxed religious groups.

Restore the government to be the voice and will of the people.

Go toward social democracy.

Unfortunately that system has been perverted just like the many others. All it does is keep people poor and feeding out of the government's box of chocolates. Until we get rid of the globalist agenda, no system will work. You have to cut the head off the octopus not just the legs otherwise they would regenerate. Not enough people know or figure out ways to defeat that.

I don't have anything against peaceful protests, but it's the unpeaceful gatherings that are bringing militaristic force into...neighborhoods without a clear target. Just anger and ignorance. Their voice is always accepted. Which plays into the hands of the globalistic creatures who only want more governance and control.

You're not wrong. The thing is that change is the ONLY constant. The US is different than it was 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago. I'm not sure if some of y'all have short memories or are just too young to remember. I always assumed that when the revolution came, the people would win, but it's clear to me now that's not a given. If people are waiting for someone to come save them, they need to wake up. We're it. Us.

I agree to some extent. Nonetheless people think a civil war is going to break out but in actuality it'll be another American Revolution against the government. Us the people vs. the military.

It was waay different than it is now but it's also about to get waaaay worse than it was as well.

All the animals ! First of all the ones that incited all this were white supremist as reflected by the number of arrest from outsiders attached to these groups.

Yeah uh-huh...keep telling yourself that. Delude yourself to the reality. Turn on the TV and report back with color. All I saw on the news tonight were dark colored people going in and out of the Nike store in New York, with boxes of tennis shoes and clothes. Who does that? Get a clue lady....get a clue. I'm out of this - believe what you will.

Laughable no country on earth is as racist as US

@Neno2 Maybe systemically we have them beat. But society wise, it sounds like a lot of Europeans do have racial prejudice. When my bf went to Italy two years ago he said he heard the n-word thrown around a lot (and no, not the Italian word for “black”; the literal n-word). Then one of my other best friends traveled Europe a few years ago and said he’d never experienced the level of racism he experienced in Poland (or maybe it was Czech Republic).

At least in America the only people who use the n-word with the hard R are old people and white supremacists.

Europe is SUPER racist, Spain, France south of Italy, extreme racism in Poland and all of Eastern block countries of post soviet. Australia too.

I travelled to all the continents around the world except N.America. I’ve seen it and London is so diverse people always tell you how racist their country is.

The difference is you don’t see it through the violence. But systemically super racist.

I pretty much agree with a bunch of different countries in Europe. 😔

Yep, it’s very passive aggressive but systematically 90% of European countries are 😏 and the signs are more obvious since the Syrian refugees have been escaping the war zone into Europe

I’ve been to Sweden several times as my mom was born & raised there (she’s not racist tho). On my latest trip we were hanging out with my uncles neighbor and the neighbor went on a rant about how immigration is ruining their country 🤦🏻‍♀️ I just thought it was ridiculous because the very same neighbor is married to a woman who immigrated to Sweden from Russia, but maybe she was the one feeding him anti-immigration ideas.

one area where I think you can predict positive change along racial lines is in the continued legalization and decriminalization of marijuana...black/white usage is roughly the same but black people are almost 4 x's as likely to be arrested for possession....I'm not sure that eliminates the underlying issue of systemic racial bias (namely that POC disproportionately experience traffic and street stops by police), but it at least will alleviate some of the consequences....Illinois' recent legalization also included provisions around clearing past offenses (possession of an ounce or less) that affected 800k people....

and white ppl find another way too get rich off something that ruined black men lives

I definitely agree. There are those still sitting in jail for distribution (some are life sentences) watching others make a living doing pretty much the same thing....Illinois did something interesting though in light of the history of racial inequity/bias; they mandated a 25% tax on sales revenue that would funnel back into redeveloping impoverished communities, and the legislation includes a type of vendor preference to ethnic minorities and people impacted by harsh sentences with the previous laws. Even with that the dispensary ownership is still almost all white males because they have the capital and the first licenses were granted to medical dispensary owners. But there's a lot going on there - businesses, some non-profits, and organizations popping up, all structured around increasing ethnic diversity in the industry and training minority entrepreneurs to become owners...

Is anti immigration same as racism?

I don’t think it is

I think if you’re picking and choosing which countries to ban immigration from (such as Mexico, the Middle East, etc) then I think it is at least prejudice, if not racist. If you’re anti-immigration as a whole then that is different because you view every immigrant equally.

People don’t like change, poverty heightens individuals xenophobia but when everyone is financially flourishing they don’t really care about who is coming or going.

Visited Norway recently and due to its wealth from their resources, we saw Swedish people including doctors that commute everyday across the border for employment. You don’t see Norwegian whinging how the Swedes are stealing their jobs 😂

Unconscious bias exist in everyone it’s just people are triggered by different experiences.

It isn't FOX news - its all networks. I guess you haven't been paying attention. Believe what you want, it doesn't matter to me.

I'm moving far far away from the big cities, to my dream home, 99.5% of you could never afford.

None of this will effect me while I sip a martini(s) as I watch the sunset in the west, from my dock on the bay of the 369 acre lake.
