I live in LA, and it's alright. I'm from NorCal so there's a definite difference. It's way more spread out so it's hard to meet people, and I really don't like online dating. I seem to either get 60-year olds or 16-year olds hitting on me and it's just...gross. And then I find a man (the virguy) I really, REALLY like and find out a month and a half later that he's married "but separated." He pursued/pursues me, but won't take it to the point where he asks me out. It's driving me crazy!
No LV here. The fact that little 16-year olds are walking around with monogram bags takes away the uniqueness and luxury of owning one from me. lol So I set my eyes on lesser seen luxury bags. And one day I hope to score a Birkin, but uh, that's off into the distance. lol

I do think that's true. I know quite a few women that will openly admit to walking up to a man and being blunt and straight-forward about what they want, or well, at least starting the conversation. They have that "I don't give a fuck" attitude. I have never done that as I'm too much of a chicken to walk up to a stranger. lol Whether women are cheating more than men...I kinda doubt that. Are women getting smarter about the "game," yes, that I will agree with.

Well I have one friend that's too blunt for me, but you know how men are, if they want to boink, they don't care much about how you say it. lol My other friend just does the normal pleasantries ("Hi, how are you? I see you around. Do you work in the area...?" Etc.), and then she'll just ask for their number, if she can call them or if they could grab some coffee sometime. It always sounds a lot easier than it is. lol
Eye contact is quite intimate in my opinion as they eyes can convey a lot without words. I think it can be a useful tool to let someone know how you're feeling when you're too nervous to say it. Unless he's dense, of course. If it's a man you like, I think the most important thing you should do is smile at them. Your eyes naturally sparkle and light up at them. And you don't have to stare. That can be done in certain instances: either when you want to draw someone you haven't met in from across the room or when you're flirting with someone and want them to "catch" you eyeballing them. It should always be subtle of course. I try to do it every now and again. It's also good to do when you want to punctuate a sentence with a look, maybe if you said something a little...naughty or flirtatious and give them a glance before looking away. It's like a little cat and mouse game.

At times I feel that if the girl does all the initiating, the guy is more likely to like the girl less than the girl likes the guy... I would be so tired. Men love best by giving and knowing their love is received, women love best by receiving and giving love.
Well I think it depends on the situation as well. If you're out at a bar and see someone you like, it's much more likely that someone will have to approach because the likelihood of you seeing them again might be never. So you might have to find a way to get their attention, i.e. eye contact and a smile. If you are lucky enough to see them on a regular basis, you can still smile but also engage them in conversation, something that allows you to find out what you want to know about them while being coy about yourself. Men do like a bit of a challenge so it's good to give them some bait and see if they take it. If the guy likes you AND he's confident in himself, he'll take over. If he likes you and has a situation (i.e. a gf or wife), you might get mixed messages, like I am right now, or if he's a douche, he'll go after you anyway and pretend like his gf doesn't exist and never tell you. And if he's not interested, you should be able to tell; you just have to pay attention.

Being around men I like is the only time I still get shy, and you're right. It's about acceptance/rejection. It's that time when all the insecurities about myself that I might be surpressing surface and I constantly wonder what he will think about them; or in other words, "Will he accept or reject them?"
It's bad enough beating myself up about my station in life, what I haven't accomplished, etc. so to have to expose that to someone that makes you vulnerable is...terrifying. lol But at some point, hopefully you are lucky enough to see that you relate on similar levels and can negate a lot of the anxiety preventing you from being your full self. Trust me. I have to remember that all the time.
