so I knew this was coming, but I realised one thing today; that I was raving on via email to a company after receiving something I am not happy with.

usually i would let most things like this go but here i am, telling them about each bum detail and how their marketing techniques need a good update. another thing i noticed .. it felt great!! I feel like myself, but much more vocal and unwilling to 'let things slide', on feeling I have been dealt an unfair hand.

anyway something clicked .. and I looked at my progressed chart to see that my sun is now at 00°00' of Virgo. 😄

I have entered the earthen realm.

this is really going to help relieve my mercury square saturn, I just know it.

My progressed planets will go into Pisces to help relieve my Neptune square Saturn... never in this life :/

But that's a pertinent thought and perhaps something ado with my p.Moon in Pisces next year... hmm...

Just wait until you do something embarrassing and the Virgo shame vortex takes hold of you and everyone else around you for the first time 😄
oh so you're like the inverse of me .. I am very Neptunian, which is why this is going to be great. a creative spirit creating reality rather than getting lost at sea. 🙂

i have embarrassed myself enough times to grow accustomed to not caring much about being embarrassed, but I definitely know where you are coming from. it's difficult to explain at this point! Like my self image has definitely shifted somewhat. (Progressed Merc and Ascendant are already in Virgo).

Do you have much water already?

Rising Scorpio Uranus sextile Virgo Saturn and 9th Cancer Mars sextile Virgo Sun.

Enough to mirror whatever trait I want to develop, esp with progressed Sag ASC conjunct my natal Neptune.

Lack of fire is my main issue with complete integration of creative drive. Jupiter in Leo (on Sun/Mars midpoint) is besieged by Mars/Saturn and the only other fire placement/angle is Neptune near 2nd cusp being the only planet below my natal horizon.

Perhaps more alike than it would seem on the surface, creative late-blooming spirit mostly lost at sea unable to see the self from the waves of others' images and dreams.

Pro-tip about that budding critiquing drive: keep it to constructive, the destructive side gets fugly real fuggin' quickly, trust me 😉

...and oi, these blockquotes are tricksy to edit o.0

Ooh, Cancer Mars, I have that one. With the progressed Pisces moon and Neptune on the Ascendant sensitivities will deepen. I find it's best to embrace it; life becomes rich that way.

My solar return Ascendant is in Sagittarius right now, so that's refreshing and I do have a good dose of Leo natally. By besieged do you mean that Mars and Saturn square or conjunct it or is that the Mars/Saturn midpoint? I love the inventive terminology btw. 😄 I always thought Jupiter in Leo would pack quite a punch, it seems like a fortunate placement, but Saturn can really be a bar-steward at times.

Oh damn, please, tell me about it. I have never been fan of destructive criticism so I will be just fine. even constructive criticism I find rarely necessary unless one is in an actual teaching role. Art for instance; I prefer to appreciate it and respect it as an expressive outlet, regardless of how messy or anything else it is.

- yes, moreso since they reformatted the site.

Ah, the much revered william lilly. I had a feeling you meant he was surrounded!

now the way you wrote just reminded me of Nostradamus for some reason, he had also a Cancer Mars you know. 😉

see his jupter-saturn-mars super-conjunction.. would jupiter there technically be besieged? bearing in mind their retrograde motions and the relative speeds of the planets... i would think so.

One other thing you may notice - a nagging urge to not leave well enough alone with wandering when it comes to intellectual journeys 😛

Was able to dig up a bit more clear answer, though I also tend towards a more intuitive view of judging motion and the formation of aspects with all the planets moving. In Lilly's predictive work (what do us modern Uranian plebs know anyway), though, his studies all centered around moving an individual planet in relation to the natal positions in a chart. Like predictive work of moving a man's Moon / woman's Sun through the remainder of the natal sign it's in to predict the number of marriages by the number of major aspects it makes during that movement or judging VOC for a Moon in a horary, Lilly's methods relied on such a perspective.

Found a term summary excerpt:

"Bonatus describes a besieged planet as one that separates from a malefic and applies to another (Con. 6). It shows a situation that is going from bad to worse.

William Lilly described a planet besieged as one that lies between the bodies of the two malefics Mars and Saturn. His example is Mars at 10 ° Aries, Venus 13° Aries, and Saturn 15° Aries. It is generally accepted that besiegement can occur by aspect as well as bodily conjunction. As a principle it refers to a planet trapped by hostile forces on either side."

So Nostradamus did not have a besieged Jupiter, and no, I had no idea he had a Cancer Mars too 🙂 Weird Neptunian thing in that, certainly the first writing of mine you've come across - my first poem actually reads much more like one he might have penned had he been an internet junkie than anything else of mine.

I'd pick Rasputin if I had to choose one, but blarg... enough of nothing ado with a progressed Virgo (or everything?) who knows who's in the details
like, honestly, every Virgoism you hit me with I feel like i've already worn out the t-shirt and had to moderate it already. I always thought I identified with Virgos more than any sign you know and I remember years ago wondering if my Leo Ascendant was off or if my complete lack of earth (including house planets) and mutable singleton meant that I over-compensated. who knows!

Lol@ modern Uranian plebs. I see. I haven't read much of Lilly's work. Is classical Astrology your thing then?

going off bonatus' definition of besieged as a term I have to say that I still want to disagree. 😈 (lol) despite Jupiter not being sandwiched between the two, there is still one applying and one separating aspect. Mars is in an applying conjunction because it's faster and they are both retrograde. perhaps it's worthy of debate or it's already been done before, I don't know, but I just like to entertain it.

Going off Lilly's more straight forward definition only, I would say no. But bonatus just makes me think about whether Jupiter is really going to 'get away' ... ↓

... that easily. Btw I'm not stubborn, I can be swayed. It's just a thought to put out there,

Yes it does read as such, that's what I thought. 🙂 the first time I ever looked up his chart was after watching a documentary of him and consequently reading some of his quatrains. I understood certain things about his veiled style of expression immediately and looked specifically to see if he had Mars in Cancer. It was a nice bingo moment.

grigori rasputin? I just had a little look. i'll have to acquaint myself with his stuff when I come back from my travels. I have heard of him quite a few times ...
