For Valentine's day, she had her son and had to stay close to her apartment, so I brought over take out, set up some cushions in the bed of my truck, and a mini gas fireplace. We spent the night just talking and drinking a few beers. She spent two hours longer with me than she said she would be able to, so I know she enjoyed it. I had brought her chocolates, flowers, and a stuffed sloth (her favorite animal and who she now sleeps with at night lol). She even brought her son out for a bit. That was one of our first official dates. She posted on her Facebook it was the best Valentine's day ever (and one of the few she actually got flowers or anything).

Since then, I've taken her to concerts, dancing, and a few small things, but mostly we just hang out. We are both very busy and she has her son, who has baseball tournaments on the weekends. It's hard to get a night out.

So I'm looking for inspiration for a romantic night that:

1) Must be simple without a whole lot of set up required. I'm open to all ideas, but the simpler, the better

2) I could do at her place or wouldn't require a lot of driving, and wouldn't require me staying the night (although that's still my preference when I get a chance lol).

3) That a Virgo woman would really enjoy and would give her a reason to smile.

Any thoughts?

Well what I personally enjoy and makes me smile..is actual effort put in. A man with a plan not someone who makes minimal investments and whose idea of a date is spend the time by my place...especially if early on in the courtship. I'm half tongue in cheek here because I assume you mean there is not much time left in the day and you both work a lot or you both don't really enjoy going out and like staying in..but still.

Leaving that aside..we actually are low maintenance. if we're really feeling you which comes with the disadvantage of having men be lazy about it.

I'd go for participating in a passion of hers. If you don't know any of those..something that is engaging mentally will work. Board games/playing cards/playstation games/movie marathons? Adding some sprinkle of magic with having an outdoors picnic at night with a map of the night sky and figuring out constellations. Are you a good cook? If so, play to your strengths.

I don't know what's in her area but you could try to explore the neighborhood. Geo caching is nice.

I think I read in another topic she has Pisces Moon and Libra Venus. My placements are more competitive/playful so hoping someone else chimes in with pure romance ideas.

Best of luck, hopefully you know her a bit by now so you can figure out more.

First off, thanks for your reply! But yeah, I work on average 16+ hrs a day and she is a nanny and often has to watch her kids in the even if their parents work late. She also has son full time. So alone time away from her place is rare. I live an hour away to make matters harder lol

Her boy occasionally will stay at his grandma's or his dad's on nights we do get to go out, which we both like to do. His grandma just started working again as a traveling nurse, so it'll mean even less time to go out soon.

However, I do take them both out to dinner and to do fun stuff at least once a week so me and him can bond a little. I've watched him grow up for the most part, so he isn't unfamiliar with me... Just new to the idea of me dating his mom

And he is 10 so he doesn't fully understand the idea of dating yet, but still knows enough to see that I am more than just a friend.

He has expressed to me that he's uncomfortable with me being affectionate with his mom (by affectionate I mean putting my hand on her lower back when we walk or rubbing her back. We don't make out or anything inappropriate) . So, I told him I appreciate him being a man about it and I would respect him and not touch her (while he is around).

So, I guess what I am looking for are ideas that would make it easier for us to do something romantic, without having to make some huge plan a week in advance. I absolutely don't mind putting a lot of effort into it and tend to go more all out than I need to lol More that it's just hard with current circumstances.. if that makes sense?

I'm not a horrible cook lol I've offered to do the cooking, but haven't had a chance to yet. I think a nice dinner under the stars would be something she would enjoy. Just waiting on the evenings to warm up a bit lol But I do get what you mean about finding her passions... I actually just asked her about her favorite board games recently. Maybe I can incorporate that into an evening some time.

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure on her placements because she doesn't know her time of birth, but she can be very competitive and loves sports.

Best of luck, hopefully you know her a bit by now so you can figure out more.

I’m a Virgo with a single mother who is a Virgo .

Ideal date to steal get heart ? A date that includes her son and stuff that show you had her son in your head instead of her

This will work with most single mom

Thanks for your reply and like you, I grew up with a single mother, so I can definitely understand where you are coming from. Like I said in my reply to Damnata (hope I got that right lol), I try to do something with her and her son together at least once a week. He is warming up to me it seems. I have a son only a few years older than him, though he is out of state until his summer break when he stays with me. So, I am looking forward to getting the boys together. I think that would be fun for them.

I've taken her and her boy to the zoo, we go for steak dinners occasionally, bowling, and a few other things. I've even offered to take him fishing just me and him some time when he is ready. He seemed excited about this. On a similar note, when I go on trips, I always bring gifts back for my family, so I've started bringing her and her son stuff as well. If you have any other ideas, I'd definitely like to hear them!

Has anyone ever done dates with your mother by making sure it was more about you?

The one that stuck around the longest were the ones who tried to be friend with me and I liked . She dated some who I never met and they lasted a few dates at most . One time one of her date took us to eat at kfc. He paid for her but didn’t pay for me . Never saw him again lol

Can I go out on a date with you? My Taurus moon loves the bed in the truck thing

Don't bring the sloth though 😛

I don't think you need any ideas, you seem to be well clued up romantically......👍

My virgo grandparents used to take me (glow in the dark) mini golf and clay pigeon shooting.

Could be nice and romantic. Plus you could include the son when plans change.

Is there a lake closeby? Take her on a canoe with small picnic basket. Hot coco and watch the stars.

A game of pool in a small, cosy pub.

Funny you say that because her and her son love going to do the glow in the dark putt putt. There is a lake near by and as soon as the weather is decent, I plan on taking her there... She likes to fish, so we will definitely do that. Also, I plan on doing the truck bed set up sometime then take her and her boy out to the lake at night when the stars are out.

Ok, so here is my "creative date night" that I am considering next....

Some night when the weather is nice and hopefully the stars are out, I want to go to her apartment and set up a tent/gazebo deal I use for my business and put up a string of lights. I will also bring my Bluetooth speakers. Then I will surprise her by telling her to meet me downstairs (since I will not have told her that I was there while setting up). I will take her and dance with her for a short while. Maybe bring some beer or wine. I bring the dance floor to her, so to speak... Won't be a long date, but it's something I can do on a night when we wouldn't otherwise be able to go out.

Thoughts on that—

Also, I am taking her out to a comedy show tomorrow night, but I want to make it more romantic somehow... I bought her flowers for mother's day, so I feel like it would be too soon to bring more.

I'm thinking maybe bring a bottle of wine or something? She's not a big wine drinker, but she has a wine rack she once mentioned she wants to buy some wine bottles to put in...

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Lol I am definitely smitten... And a hopeless romantic to begin with. Though you wouldn't suspect as much if you knew me in RL... Let just say I'm a little rough around the edges in the "bar fights" and hang out with a rough crowd kind of way.

Anyway, explain how I am helping guys like you? I think I get what you are saying, but don't want to assume...

Yeah... Not trying to make myself sound tuff or nothing, just emphasizing the fact that romantic is not the first thing people think of when they meet me.... Gotta get past the rough exterior and I'm a teddy bear 😉

I have noticed on days I'm quiet, she will initiate more. And when I don't ask to see her she will come up with something to do together... She won't flat out ask me usually, though she has occasionally, but will definitely drop some obvious hints. Guess can't expect much more than from a Virgo it sounds like lol

But I catch your drift...

Awwwwwh!!! You are such a sweetie! She is such a lucky gal! I am a virgo moon, so, my opinion may not matter.. but, I think virgos are all about simplicity. I think a date by the lake, fishing, hiking, etc. will make her happy. I think your effort goes a long way in her eyes!

😄 Thanks... I'm normally really slick with the ladies, but for some reason I get nervous, get brain farts, and trip over my words with this one... Always have, even when we were friends lol But I definitely am willing to put in as much effort as I can if it'll make her happy, so hopefully I'm doing something right.... She seems to think so, cuz she ain't kicked me to the curb yet... Yet lol
