The Virgo pay-off.

You guys are not easy to crack, but once someone works hard enough to split that shell, you reveal yourselves to be very sweet. And only become sweeter with time!

My boyfriend is not at all the type to lay on the sweeping compliments, (when we first started dating, I couldn't even get a simple 'you look nice' from this guy), so this text that he sent left me a little flabbergasted:
"Again, sorry to gush, but you are a really rad person to hangout with as a friend, plus amazing and passionate as a girlfriend. I'm looking forward to opening myself up further to you and am very glad to have met you!"

I've noticed that the more time we spend with one another, the more complimentary he becomes.

You lot aren't really ones for big romantic gestures, but you illustrate a practical kind of affection that's severely underrated.

Doesn't it make you laugh or smile every time you see a friend be such a typical Virgo? I always laugh to myself because of my friend's typical virgo-ness and he never knows why I'm laughing.

Hmm, I don't know about that. He did place me on a pedestal; something that caused him to retreat at first because he was uncertain about how to approach me.
Honestly though, in my experience with Virgos, none have been "Quixotically poetic." If anything, they've been quite the opposite.
*shrug*

He's probably just not comfortable enough with himself yet.
Most older Virgos are pretty reticent and when it comes out, it's thought out like something from an academic poetry class.

For those of you who get a kick out of my bf's very, uhm...let's say "calculated" texts, here's another:
"Hi! I just want to say that if you don't hear from me very much this up coming week, pllleeeeeeaaassseee don't think anything of it. I'm just going to focus on school. Just know that throughout my studying I'll usually think of you as a distraction!"

Followed immediately by:
"Wait I just re-read my text...thinking of you as a distraction was meant in a GOOD way, as in you are hot and I wish I was making out with you instead of studying!"

A Virgo actually explaining why he might be distant? Preposterous!
