It's a good question. Speaking on my behalf, I know when I was younger, I was far more pompous and arrogant in word that I am now.
In regards to criticism, I came off that way because if I "believed" I was right regarding a topic, why WOULDN'T I take it to the full extent to prove the point?
In regards to humor, I know I can go overboard and take it way too far. In many ways, I think that's why I can't date someone who is "fragile", so to speak. I need to know she can take a joke and give it back else I'll run eventually just run her down.
My best friend in the whole entire world is also a Virgo (We're exactly a week apart in birthdays) and he's the exact same way. Even more so brutal when it comes to crossing lines he shouldn't when it comes to humor.
I remember a story of Dy's where he was discussing something with a work buddy of his (it may have been around a movie or something) and he just took it WAY OVERBOARD to the point of offending his buddy. He didn't really mean it but when he realized it, Dy mentioned he had to go smooth it over with him later that afternoon. Im a Virgo man and new to these forums. The thread seems to have gone off-topic a little over the last few pages, so in an attempt to get it back on again I'll add my view of "Virgo man in bed" from a Virgo man's perspective! All of this is from my perspective, other Virgo men may see things differently...
The first thing I'll say is that I am quite shy and reserved when it comes to the physical side of a relationship. I come across as relaxed and confident when meeting new people, but anything physical from taking hold of a woman's hand or kissing her, right through to making love are not things that I can initiate easily. I do tend to force myself to make the first move as I know that women usually prefer to be chased.
Because of my reserved nature I'll come across as cool, aloof and disinterested, but the reality is that I love physical contact, I have a high sex-drive and I like sex to be very varied. I have many fantasies, a very fertile imagination, and I like to try everything that I think of. I also love to make a woman happy in bed and will spend as long as it takes doing whatever she wants to make sure she is totally satisfied. I sometimes think get more pleasure from a woman's orgasms than I do from my own!
My main problem is that I am always afraid of offending a woman with ideas that she might find "dirty", so I tend to come across as unimaginative until she has suggested things or asks me what I want to do and makes it clear that I can try anything I want. My mind is always full of naughty things that I want to say to a woman during sex, but I'm too shy to say them unless she tells me to talk dirty to her or talks dirty to me, which effectively gives me the green light to do the same.

According to various things I've read, Virgo and Leo are a poor combination, but I found that we worked well together. We had to adjust to each other a bit but once that phase was over we had a wonderful time together as lovers and friends.

Yes VH and I pick at each other all the time here. Another reason why I think Leos and Virgos are more compatible than given credit for. I myself HAVE to have a MAN that I can joke with and be sarcastic with and he gets that its just me and not malicious at all. I have a sarcastic twisted sense of humor and I hardly ever step outside of that part of my personality. I need constant stimulation of the mind and body and laughter is MY favorite expression. Very interesting points! The two Virgo men I have been involved with were so similar to this. A bit reserved at first, but my extroverted nature and my uninhibited sexual attitude made them comfortable with me and they became very expressive. A Leo woman doesnt normally find anything "dirty" about sex.... or at least she herself is equally as dirty and is expressive about it because her flamboyant personality makes her at ease with self expression. My current Virgo LOVES it that I am communicative with my sexual needs and has NO problem fulfilling them selflessly! And yes, for a Leo woman this is quite enjoyable. We do like to be catered to (however we will give in return) and I find that the VirGuy LOVES to to satisfy his woman even more so than he wants to satisfy himself, so I can see where it would work to both parties advantage. I am a Leo/Virgo cusp too though, so I may have a bit more in common with the VirGuy for that reason as well.
