I... don't... know. I'm just myself? I never really put much thought into any specific 'how' mechanics on self-expression.

I'm not sure I understand why someone would say something they didn't mean unless the intent was to lie. In that case, yes, personally I'll admit to having told a few fibs in my time but I can't remember having any malicious intent behind doing so. If I want to hurt someone the truth is usually a far better weapon.
