Why do women give it up to Musicians?

This has always confused me.

Women go wild for men of the musical arts. Singers and Guitar players in particular. Bass and Drums also get some action.

Why is this so?

You can be ugly and poor, but because you're a musician, women flock to you.

ah, yes, a subject i am immensely familiar with... i can't speak on behalf of all women but i know that for me i am enamoured with the creative expression the most. even when technical there is raw emotion involved. music is extremely important to me.

some chicks are attracted to the scene and the implied life style . the rock star life and the perks that come with it. there's a certain air of power and status associated with musicians. i hear my bands complain about this a lot actually.

The reason that the women are attracted to musicians is the same attracted they have to the rebel assholes. They need a man who has potential in something that they are good with.

Many women would prefer to have a man whos a jock or a musician rather than a geek or nerd, but they also would have a geek or nerd over a druggy.

It also goes with women, I normally dated soccer and dancer chicks, and i hardly ever dated normal chicks... Weird, i never liked soccer as much as hockey but it didn't stop me from hanging out with them. I actually felt good that they had something positive going on rather than getting pregnant and drunk at parties, unless they were doing both, which in many cases it happends.

In theory, musicians have a sexy mix of self-confidence with artistic nature. In reality, a lot of musicians are the cliche tortured artist, and something to run from, not towards.

I was heavily involved in the Seattle music scene from the early 80's through early 00's and got to know a lot of seemingly sexy musicians. I even married one. Most of them put on such a sexy front that it's hard not to go for it. But transitioning to LTR can shed light on serious issues. Drinking/drugs, cheating, and just plain being flaky. For some, the music always comes first, never the relationship. So on & so forth...

But until you learn better, they sure can be like flame to a moth 😉

And they're usually in getting a shitload of attention, wich makes them some sort of "prize". It's as simple as that...

My friend hooked up with a musician from her favorite band of all time twice and never regretted it.
I think if you are a fan and you idolize someone and feel like their songs speak to you, you probably feel an intense connection to
them even though you don't know them.

alright, so i didn't read the whole thread so if someone's already stated what i'm about to, sorry.

most girls i know do it for status. they want to be the object of affection from a guy who's in a band, because there's a lot of competition to get to that guy. they want to prove that their hot enough/ interesting enough to land him. a lot of times it doesn't even matter if his band sucks. i've dated a lot of musicians, some weren't really in bands, but they were always really good at what they did. a lot of times i didn't even pick them out because they were musicians but because all of my friends are artists and musicians so i meet a lot of them. i prefer artists of the visual variety, a lot of them play instruments anyway but it's what i can relate to and its a passion of mine.

For me its because I love someone that is creative with an open mind. most musicians are open minded people that go with the flow. They have a "deepness" about them. I put that word in quotes because maybe they aren't really all that deep off stage. My ex was a musician and I just loved it all together. However, I can't date anymore musicians. Its to hard because all the ladies want them and if they have whore like ways they can not say no. But its just great must musicians can make love really well and when you are treetrunking they are the best at that too. Its probably because they can go with a beat and they make up there own beats.

Plus its fun and at the end of the day the song is true all girls just wanna have fun. Musicians are fun people unless they are Ike Turner then they are crazy.

To answer the question (I know this thread is old but who cares) :
1) Not all women are throwing themselves at musicians, you are talking about groupies.
2) Art is sexy. In my experience all kinds of artists have good chances with the ladies.
3) Women aren't any shallower than men. We are just attracted to different things (see: the ugly feet thread)

I can't remember what it said to be honest; I think something about it being deceiving, or the person wouldn't be able to give me what I needed. I suppose too much of a free spirit and can't be tied down?

I am attracted to some musicians and I think it's b/c of the creative aspect as well as the passionate nature they have towards playing music. Music is such a huge part of life that it is intriguing to be a part of that world even when it is through another person.
I haven't really dated any musician except the Virgo drummer and a couple men who just played guitar as a hobby.

Pretty sure it's the fame attribute. Most people will never meet a movie star but to be able to say you banged a rock star is somewhat on a sub-par level.
