"Surprise – Mercury in Pisces! The strongest number against a control group showed Mercury in both its Detriment and Fall in Pisces as the strongest placement for Mercury the Experimental Group – even stronger than being placed in Virgo. Could Mercury in Pisces denote deeper levels of thought?"

"The Sun in Virgo fares well, as do other planets disposed by Mercury: Saturn and Mars in Gemini. The Sun in Virgo could point to analytical thought – as Saturn in Gemini denotes disciplined thought and Mars in Gemini could show aggressive thought. The Moon in Aquarius – an intellectual detachment from emotion, perhaps – also makes a strong showing."

Not going to lie... I had never really thought about a correlation. 😅😂

I wonder how members here would compare with their charts and those statistics. I also wonder if they're going off their base customary 130/132 or above 🤔.

It'd be interesting to know, but likely unrealistic. That is... unless other people are willing to post their certificate from one of the IQ societies as proof. *shrug*

Idk I got 136 when I was officially tested but I’ve never joined.

Sounds like a really boring group. 😂

I bet they had some epic Warcraft, Magic, and Dungeons and Dragons parties back in the day though!?!

🤣

Yeah, no thanks.

I’ll stick with the cool crowd. 😎

My Aqua Mercury wouldn't let you get away with it 😄

Only 1 in 10 people with an IQ above 130-132 join the Mensa. Conversely, 9 in 10 very intelligent people DON'T.

What your "stats" show, is that Pisces Merc or Virgo sun are more prone to join, rather than more intelligent. So why would they join? Someone answered this nicely:

"The first thing you need to know is that no one has a good reason for joining Mensa. Pretty much anyone who tries to join a high-IQ society does so, ultimately, because he or she is an insufferable jerk. Maybe years of bullying for being a mathlete or wearing argyle sweaters well into junior high has given the person an inferiority complex, or maybe he just wants a bumper sticker that lets everyone on I-95 know he’s a genius. Either way, it’s never for noble reasons, however hard someone might pretend otherwise."

You can bullshit pretty well. You would have enjoyed the nerdy social games like D&D.

I’m above all that.

Image Not Found

I actually don’t really like playing games all that much. Too tedious. My attention span and focus isn’t that steady so while I can play really well in the beginning by the end I just want it to be over already so I’ll take whatever the shortest path is to losing. 😬

I was a nerd for books but that was about it. I didn’t have much social interaction as a child especially with my peers.

I was similar. To this day I usually don't maintain more then 1-2 close friendships.

D&D is a social game and can be tedious but it's honestly your choice on the tedious part. I've only played a few times. Alcohol and snacks found potluck too, we played slightly drunk lol. My first game the DM started the action off with us attacked and our ass getting kickef by mercenaries. They were kidnapping a party member. I broken a window to a bar and shouted for help and the guards were coming. We had zero chance of getting him back before then and not getting killed.Obviously this kidnapping was part of the story not a random even. They were a lot stronger, trying to retreat, and threaten to kill us if we got in the way. Everyone was near death or unconscious already. So I figured let's make the best of this then!

I blocked the alley and refused to let them by and told them I was just in this for the money anyway. I told them to give me all their money and I would let them pass. So they gave me all their money and I let them pass😁

My DM was rolling with laughter and called me a genius. Apparently the idea off bluffing and extorting the bad guys isn't something people even think of doing 🙃

Like I said your good at bullshiting. Also you beat me by 1 point. It's not too much different thrn the drinking games everyone else's plays anyway just more too it. You would do well even tipsy lol.

Given how in the past those kind of people were being ridiculed and bullied like you mentioned, it's no surprise actually that people being treated like this. I doubt they joined it to be snobs. More likely for the community and social interactions they where excluded from unfortunately. Thankfully this isn't the case anymore. I'm not sold on astrology determining your intelligence or IQ. Maybe the way you think sure but that is it.

To me IQ doesn't mean much. It's just raw brain power. You can handle more and things come to you easier then most. The different ways people think( not everyone thinks the same way), which is far more interesting. Most importantly intelligence(how you use it) is more important factor then IQ in the real world. Doesn't matter how much horsepower your car has if you keep driving on the sidewalk, drive backwards, or only do donuts in a parking lot. How well you use what you got is what matters most.

How people think differently just like the fact not everyone sees colors the same shade, was mind blowing to me when I found out. Some people think in words like myself and there are people who actually thinking pictures, visualisation. Jung and Einstein were visualizers and could piece together things in their mind far too complicated then other ways of thinking like using words. Here is a quick video where this is talked about.

I'm not sold on astrology determining IQ but I'm open it to effecting the way people process information though. Einstein was a Pisces and responsible for coming up with conclusions by piecing together very complicated stuff that took decades to prove and was actually right. . Some one should do a spreadsheet comparing how people t think with their Sun,mercury, saturn, and 3rd house. If there is a clear pattern it would give a bit more weight to astrology.

D&D is great. you can spend years of your life writing simulation rule, encounter tables and making up scenarios without ever playing. And it's great. It comes from a previous time, further up on the intellectual downward slope.

Once you start playing, it becomes social and that's when it becomes dumb and simian.

How so?

Not including straight Compatibility, finding good social company is always a challenge 😐

You know if you have some good simulations it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to write a choose your own adventure book, a actual dog game, or book. It all the same just your applying your creation differently.

I'm obviously not very bright since I have be accurate with a language that is a melting pot of others. To top it off, it has rules full of exceptions and contradictions determined by eccentric stuck geezers who wore white wigs to hide their syphilis sores on their head 🙃

Seriously, it's why I use emojis. I shared a chuck Norris joke and it got flagged by Facebook as false information because it wasn't obvious it was a joke. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2868315609903658&id=100001757420979

You're alright, mate. I was giving you an example of why you'd be dismissed by those you were trying to protect 😉

I could see why someone way back would join.

Given how in the past those kind of people were being ridiculed and bullied like you mentioned, it's no surprise actually that people being treated like this. I doubt they joined it to be snobs. More likely for the community and social interactions they where excluded from unfortunately. Thankfully this isn't the case anymore. The normal shitty kids teasing each other aside, your not persecuted and treated like shit for being smarter then usual unless.... your a asshole and have it coming anyway.

Also damn dude what's with the blanket stereotyping on this? Sounds like your straight hating or you ran in to a asshole yourself when you were young.

If you want to defend the very oppressed, persecuted, and super-intelligent Mensa people....you have to learn to differentiate between "You're", as in "You are", and "Your" as in "Your mistake". Also between hating (who does that shit, anyway?), poking fun, and sarcasm.

I'm dyslexic and don't feel like taking that much time to proof read my posts today. You will see my post history riddled with these kind of mistakes 🤷

To be clear though, not protecting I was just questioning the blanket claim they are all basically Insufferable jerks and that is the only reason you would look to join that group.
